Windrose – All Ingots and How to Get

By Kirthana KApril 15, 20265 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Ingots are required to unlock and upgrade equipment and gear, allowing players to advance in the game.
    • Most ingots are obtained via crafting, but some are found only by scavenging and looting chests.
    • You will require structures like the Smelting Furnace to craft ingots.

Windrose is not just about pirate exploration; you must craft essential items to survive. Early resources are easily found nearby, but as you progress, you must scavenge unfamiliar biomes for new materials.

    How to Get Copper Ingot

Copper ingot is the first crafting material needed to construct superior structures and enhance your equipment. To forge copper ingots, gather:

    • 4x Copper Ore
    • 1x Charcoal

I found copper ore on the starting island itself, inside a cave used for mining. For a more in-depth guide on finding this resource, check out our copper ore guide. If you can’t find any copper ore here, I also figured out that exploring other nearby islands also offers copper mining deposits.

Accessing these areas is possible if you have a ship, so get that first. As for charcoal, you need to build the Charcoal Kiln first, then add wood planks to it to turn it into charcoal. After obtaining these items, take them to the Smelting Furnace to get Copper Ingots.

Used in: Upgrading basic stone gear like the pickaxe and axe, crafting weapons like the saber, rapier, club, and pistol, crafting workbenches like the Weaponsmith and Disassembly Unit, and unlocking the Fast Travel Bell.

How to Get Gold, Silver, and Tumbaga Ingots

The only way to get the above three ingots is to locate them in the overworld. There are two main methods I used to find them. The first method is to scavenge around POIs. While checking out the map, look around for POIs like Ancient Ruins or Excavation Sites.

After clearing the area of enemies, check around for any treasure chests. Sometimes, they are found within the same area, but other times, they could be hidden underground. If you notice a path going down, head underground to find the chest. You might get one of the three mentioned ingots within the chest.

The second method that I found more fruitful, but challenging, is to loot Blackbeard Transport Ships. If you are having a really hard time dealing with enemy ships, check out our enemy ships guide to help you out.

Used in: Upgrading weapons, crafting jewelry, unlocking Jeweler’s workbenches, and selling to traders for Piastre.

How to Get Foothills Iron Ingot

To start crafting Foothills Iron Ingots, you will require:

    • 3x Foothills Iron Ore
    • 1x Charcoal
    Image via TheGamesWatch

I’ve already covered how to collect Charcoal earlier, so all that’s left is to get Foothill’s Iron Ore. For this, you need to travel to the second biome, Foothills. While here, check the island for Iron Deposits. There is one such deposit on the southern island.

To find the entrance to the deposit, head down the ravine surrounding the deposit to find a rock wall. Use your pickaxe to break down the wall to find Iron Ore. Be careful as you venture out further into the cave, as there are high-level enemies down here.

Collect the required resources and take them to the Smelting Furnace to craft Foothills Iron Ingot.

Used in: Used at the Workbench to craft nails, bosun backpack, ironware, and more. Can also upgrade weapons and gear at the Armor and Clothing Workshop. Can sell it to traders to get Piastre.

How to Get Mire Metal Ingot

The Mire Metal Ingot is a late-game resource, as you will require two unique resources that you can’t find in your starter biome. The resources you will require to craft the Mire Metal Ingot at the Large Smelting Furnace are:

    • 2x Ancient Scraps
    • 1x Quagmire Powder

You will find Ancient Scraps around the third biome, the Cursed Swamps. Check out the POIs around the map to find mines and ruins. Explore these areas to uncover metal deposits that would drop Ancient Scraps.

Quagmire Powder is also found in the same way, but inside chests within POIs. While the chances of finding Quagmire Powder this way are quite low, there is another method. Defeating Plague enemies like the Witch, Hunter, Thrall, and Warrior will also drop Quagmire Powder.

Used in: Unlocks the Enchanting Table, upgrades armor and gear at the Armor and Clothing Workshop, upgrades the Jeweler’s Workbench, Distiller, and Bellows.

    How to Get Ingot Arborum

You can craft the Ingot Arborum after unlocking Mire Metal Ingots, since this ingot type is a requirement in crafting. With that, you will require the following:

    • 1x Mire Metal Ingot
    • 2x Essence Arborum
    • 1x Tainted Bile

While exploring the Cursed Swamps, you need to chop down Plague-infested trees to collect Plague wood. Pass these wood types through the Smelting Furnace to collect Essence Arborum. As for Tainted Bile, you need to find and defeat Plague Crocodiles around the Cursed Swamp to get it as a drop. Take these resources to the Enchanting Table to craft Ingot Arborum.

Used in: Crafting advanced weapons at the weaponsmith, crafting Bullet Arborum at the Workbench, and crafting jewelry at the Jewelry Workbench.

    FAQs

Why can’t I unlock any late-game crafting recipes?

You need to clear the prior biomes, which include defeating the biome’s boss, to unlock new crafting recipes.

How do I travel to new islands?

You need to unlock a ship to travel to new islands. Check out our ship guide to know more.

What do I use to mine ore?

You will require the Pickaxe to mine ore. To mine high-level ore, you will require more advanced Pickaxes to do the job.
