Cult of the Lamb DLC – Pardon or Execute the Executioner Choice Guide

By Kirthana KJanuary 24, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • After defeating the Executioner, you get a choice to kill or pardon her.
    • You can choose to pardon her, and later on either indoctrinate or kill her.
    • There is a trophy unlock linked to this; however, you get the achievement irrespective of the decision you take.

Cult of the Lamb may not have a lot of choices to make, but sometimes, you might end up at a crossroads to decide someone’s fate. After defeating the Executioner, you get to pick whether to kill her or spare her. If her past actions deeply affected you, then you might find the choice easier to make. However, sparing her will also yield some interesting outcomes.

Choice #1 – Spare the Executioner

Executioner choice cult of the lamb woolhaven

Sparing the Executioner will change her name to Hagar. She will then be found roaming Woolhaven later on, and you will have the opportunity to speak with her from time to time. You could also speak to the ghosts to learn about their opinion. Eventually, she will be cornered by the ghosts, and you will be forced to make another choice here.

    • Indoctrinate: You get to add Hagar as a follower.
    • Kill: Execute Hagar for good.

Whichever option you pick, you will get the Executioner trophy. If you indoctrinate Hagar, you will find her in your base amongst the other followers. Speak to her to get a Legendary Weapon Fragment x1.

Choice #2 – Kill the Executioner

This choice results in a quick death for the Executioner, and you will receive the Executioner trophy. If you spare her the first time and kill her later, you will get the trophy and the Legendary Weapon Fragment x1.

    Best Choice

I personally found that it was best to spare her and add her to your followers. She did prove her loyalty to my group, and I could keep her as a pet or have her take care of the other followers in my cult. I still got the achievement and the Legendary Weapon Fragment for keeping her alive.

    FAQs

Where do I find the Executioner?

You need to have the Woolhaven region unlocked, then head over to the Hidden Tomb within the Rot to find her lair.

Is it easy to defeat the Executioner boss?

The Executioner boss fight is longer and more grueling than other bosses in the DLC, so it is best to prepare yourself first before finding her.

Are there any consequences for keeping the Executioner alive?

No, if indoctrinated, the Executioner will behave like the rest of the followers in your cult.
