The quests in Romestead might ask for various item favors, and sometimes you won’t get hints on where to find some of them. Once you have started working on the quests from Venus, you are required to offer a drum and a lyre to her.

Drum and Lyre Location
After progressing through the questline a bit, you will get to the point of completing the In Vino Veritas quest. For the quest, you need to offer 4 items to Venus to unlock the Wine Dolium, and those four items happen to be 10x Grapes, 5x Beer, 1x Drum, and 1x Lyre.
The first two items are easy to get. Grapes can be grown in your field or obtained via enemy drops. While beer will require the Beer Dolium, some wheat, and an empty pot to craft beer. Now all that’s left is to get the Drum and the Lyre, which are found much later in the game.
How to Find the Drum
You need to make your way to the southwestern section from your starting biome to get the Drum. Going southwest will lead you to the Desert biome. I found a drum at the entrance to the Pyzifax boss area. But if you can’t reach this location yet, I also had some luck finding a drum at the Satyr camps in the Forest and Desert biomes. Once you find a drum, hit it with your weapon to turn it into an item and store it in your inventory.
How to Find a Lyre
The only luck I had in finding the lyre was in the Desert biome again. From the entrance to the biome, travel west until you find a statue of a cyclops. A lyre is right in front of it; smash it to get the instrument in your inventory. Just like the drum, the lyre might also spawn in Satyr camps within the Desert and Forest biomes, so do check them out frequently to get them.
Once you have obtained all the required items for the quest, visit your altar and hand them over to Venus to complete the quest and unlock the Wine Dolium. With this, you can start crafting wine for consumption.

Yes, after unlocking the Desert biome, set up a base here and unlock the merchant. Check the market and upgrade it to level 3 to find the Drum and Lyre for sale.
How do I pick up the Drum or Lyre after placing it on the ground?
The only way to pick them up again is to press R and enter the destroy mode to break the item.
Do the drums and lyre have other uses?
So far, there are no other uses for the drum and lyre besides turning them in for the quest. They can be used as decoration at your base if you have found extra lyres and drums.
