How to Unlock the Subwayne
The Batcave unlocks as you keep playing the main story quests, especially once you reach the quest called The Subwayne. This will take you to the southern section of Tricorner Island. Follow the quest marker to go to the tunnel, after which you need to unlock the shutter to get into the tunnel. You need to stop the four gadgets surrounding the tunnel building using your weapons to break the shutter’s lock.
The first gadget is right on top of the shutter door. Use the Batarang on the gadget to break it. Then, switch to Jim Gordon and jump across the poles jutting out from the water on the right. Turn around towards the shutter building to find the second gadget and use the Foam Sprayer on the gears to stop them from turning. Switch to Batman and use the Batarang on the gadget above the gears.
The third gadget is at the topmost platform above the shutter door. Use the grapple hook to get up there and hit the final gadget using the Batarang. This will uncover the fourth and final gadget right above the shutter door, so head back down and destroy it with the Batarang. This will unlock the shutter door, giving you access to the Sunwayne.
How to Unlock and Customize the Batcave
Once the Subwayne is unlocked, open your map and scroll northwards. You will find the Subwayne fast travel point. Interact with it to be teleported to your Batcave. Now, to customize it, you need to clear Chapter 1 to unlock the shop.
But you still can’t access the store until you follow through with the main story quests, where you are instructed to Improve the Batcave in the Home Sweet Home quest. After that, you get access to the garage where you purchased vehicles will be stored, and if you go further, you can find the section where you can build and place items.
Besides building, you can also gain access to the costumes you collect in the game. But to unlock the suit vault, you need to expand your base. Expansions will cost money, but they will unlock more areas to set up your base of operations. And lastly, you will gain access to the Challenge board later on that will offer mini challenges to complete.
