Candle that Melts Eternity Event Guide
After the 4.9.0 patch update, the Candle that Melts Eternity event has seen significant changes. For one, you can’t go AFK while playing the event, so you need to be involved throughout the stages and collect the necessary resources to build your ideal team. In case you are new to the event, think of this event as a sort of tower defense. To start the event, visit the portal at the Scar of Sacrifice area in the Nix region.
Starting the Candle that Melts Eternity Event

Once inside the new Shallow of Sacrifice area, speak to Kiara the Witch nearby. You will spot a timer on the right that counts down to the start of the event. Once the event starts, you will receive 30 Spirit Energy. I would suggest using some of the Spirit Energy to summon an Amitoi. The Amitoi will help collect all the remaining Spirit Energies that drop from defeating enemies.
The best place I found to put up your ally team is in the center of the area. Since you will have limited Spirit Energies until you start your hunt, use them to summon any low-cost allies. Interact with the four mirrors and select any that you can purchase. Then, wait for the first wave of enemies to run by and get defeated. Your Amitoi will start collecting all the fallen Spirit Energies in the meantime.
Obtaining Epic Tiered Theodore

Once you have enough energy, upgrade your existing allies to Blue tier, then I suggest replacing them with Theodore when the option appears. You need four blue-tiered Theodores to get one purple-tiered Theodore. In the meantime, keep placing allies around the other mirrors so it gets easier to farm Spirit Energy.
Eventually, you will get a purple Theodore. Theodore’s special skill is to cause an explosion after a few waves, which will eliminate every enemy on the map. Place an Attack Speed buff to increase the chances of having the explosive attack arrive early.
Do note that after Theodore unleashes the explosive attack, he will faint. All you need to do is relocate him to another mirror to revive him. I suggest placing him on the mirror directly behind the four mirrors, right at the base of the mountain. Don’t forget to place a few low-ranking allies all around to speed up the process. Eventually, killing the Elite Wraith boss, the event will end.
FAQs
How do I replace or remove an ally from the mirror?
Interact with the mirror where the ally is and select the Remove option. Any Spirit Energies spent will be refunded.
Can I use any other hero instead of Theodore?
Theodore is the only one who can cause an explosive attack, while having anyone else will make the event more difficult.
I can’t access the portal; what do I do?
Make sure you have completed all the main quests and reached max level before attempting the event. If that doesn’t work, then restarting the game might help.
