Key Points
- The High Priestess resides in the Cursed Swamps and is the boss of this area.
- Defeating her will drop the Charon’s Obol reward.
- Aim for the blobs on her back with your ranged weapon, then use your melee weapon on the flower bulb once her mouth opens up into a flower.
The final Charon’s Obol is dropped by the final boss in Windrose Early Access, the High Priestess. While this is the final boss for now, the rules of defeating this boss remain the same. With the right tactics, you can easily take down this giant beast and get the reward.

High Priestess Boss Fight Preparation

The High Priestess is the final boss encounter once you reach the Cursed Swamps. As part of the Forgotten Relics quest, you need to tackle the High Priestess to get the final Charon’s Obol. By now, you should be familiar with obtaining the right equipment for the previous two boss fights. For this fight, I recommend bringing a heavy-duty ranged weapon like the Blunderbuss and any sword of your choice.
I’ve upgraded my Blunderbuss to Rare tier, but you can make do with Uncommon rarity too. Having the weapon in a lower tier rarity will be easier to use since you won’t require complex materials to craft the ammo. Craft a bunch of ammo before the fight, since you will require it. As for armor, I chose the entire Marksman set, since owning 4-pieces will increase ranged weapon damage by 15%. I upgraded all my armor pieces to level 12.
Besides this, stock up on consumables and healing items as usual. Bandages, health potions, and food like Sunmilk Tonic, Meat in Tangy Mushroom Sauce, and anything else that will increase strength and endurance will help here. Also, I went ahead and crafted an Elixir of Concentration to increase my CRIT rate, but you could craft other potions that help scale melee or ranged attacks, too.
High Priestess Boss Fight Guide

The High Priestess has 3 basic attacks:
- Body Smash – Jumps up and slams her body near you and deals AOE damage.
- Tar Shots – Spews sludge-like substance from her mouth and deals ranged damage from afar.
- Hand Swipes – Uses both her hands to swipe at you and cause knockback.
Most of these attacks are telegraphed, so it’s easy to dodge them. Look out for a red glint on the boss as she is preparing herself to jump up and slam her body on you. If you are too close to her, she will use her hands to deal damage. If you are too far, she will hit you with tar from her mouth.
The main tactic to deal with the High Priestess is to try to get behind her and shoot the orange blobs on her back. That means you need to stay on your toes throughout this fight. Run or roll behind her, then use your ranged weapon to hit the blobs.
Eventually, she will erupt into a large flower temporarily. When that happens, run up to her and keep hitting the low-lying glowing bulb from the flower with your melee weapon. When she regains consciousness, rinse and repeat the above steps until she is dead.
