How to Board Ships Quickly

While you are out in uncharted seas, you will run into enemy ships from time to time. Boarding the ship and clearing it of enemies will help you uncover rare loot. I thought the onboarding process was a piece of cake until I came face-to-face with an actual enemy ship. Without the right preparation, my crew and I were toast. But after figuring out how to fight these ships, I put together this simple guide on dealing with enemy ships.
Now that you are familiar with how to down an enemy ship, work on reducing the ship’s health until you get a dual sword symbol below the ship’s health bar. This indicates that you can get on board the ship and fight the pirates head-on. First, you need to practice turning your ship to align it close to the enemy ship. Slow down your ship to make a sharp turn, or speed up to make larger turns.
Defeat the Enemy Crew
Once your ship has aligned with the enemy ship, walk close to the railing to get the Climb option. You will spot your crew onboarding the enemy ship right about now. Follow them and start killing the enemy crew with your preferred weapon. If you take a look at the right side of your screen, you will get the Boarding Battle objective. For the objective, you need to kill the required crew members to clear the ship.
If you don’t like to engage in battle, step back and let your crew do all the heavy lifting instead. Or you could stay back on your ship and use ranged weapons to deal damage. Get up on the highest point of your ship and shoot down at enemies. Eventually, the crowd will thin out, and you will get the Boarding Successful message. You are now free to raid the ship of its treasures.
