The only way to survive the barren terrains of Road to Vostok is to find the right vendors and check their stock. Later in the game, you need to venture out even further to find the weapon specialist and upgrade your gear. Before that, you need to work on building up enough stamina to make the trek over there.

How to Reach the Outpost
Besides the Doctor and the Generalist, you will also encounter the Gunsmith. This is the third vendor to find in the game, and this requires venturing out to the Outpost. If this isn’t your first time here, the best way I found to reach the Outpost is to head over to the Village from your cabin, then follow alongside the yellow border tape to find the entrance to the School. After entering the School, all you have to do is travel along the main road until you reach the Outpost.
Now, the Outpost is much tougher to navigate than the Village and School, and there are several high-level enemies here. Visit the Doctor and the Generalist along the way to collect resources for your travels. How to Find the Gunsmith
The Gunsmith is located on the opposite side of the Outpost border entrance. Instead of making a blind dash to the area and stepping into trouble, follow the yellow border tape to your left. This will lead you to your second shelter, the Tent. Use it to replenish any lost health or stamina or adjust your arsenal. Then, follow the dirt path beyond it and travel along the rope barricade that blocks you from the two giant missiles on your right.
Continue along this path until you reach a stream and get across it. You will spot a tanker on your right once you reach land. Go behind the tanker and check the area right opposite it to find a bunker door. Enter it and enter the room on the right to find the Gunsmith.

I can’t find the Gunsmith. What do I do?
The Gunsmith will appear on Day 10 onwards, so pass the time completing other objectives first until you have access to his store.

Collect furniture items like shelves from the Doctor and place them around the Tent to store items.
