Hytale – How to Craft Empty Potion Bottles

    By Jordan BlakeJanuary 16, 2026Updated:May 3, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Potion bottles are essential for magic crafting in Hytale, as all potions must be stored in them before use.
    • Empty Potion Bottles are crafted using a Furnace, requiring only basic materials like Wooden Logs and Sand.
    • Sand must be collected from beaches near seas, as river sand variants such as White Sandstone and Quartzite cannot be used.

As you keep running into stronger enemies in Hytale, you need to level up your weapons, too. One way to do that is to enter the realm of magic, more specifically, making magic potions for yourself. But you need to store them in potion bottles. In this guide, we’ll guide you on how to build empty potion bottles.

Potion Bottles are a must-have item if you are going to learn magic crafting in Hytale. While Potions can be made at Brewing stations, making Potion Bottles requires a Furnace.

By following the steps given below, you’ll be able to craft potion bottles:

    • Collect 4x Tree Trunks and 3x Stone if you don’t have a Furnace. After collecting these items, press the Tab key to build a Furnace.
    • Now you need to collect Sand to make Potion Bottles. Sand is usually found next to the sea body only, as shown in image above. If you go near rivers or ponds, you’ll only find White Sandstone or Quartzite, which cannot be used to make Potion Bottles.
    • Once collected, open your Furnace. Put Tree Trunks in the Fuel section and Sand in the input section. 1x Tree Trunk and 1x Sand is enought to make 1x Potion Bottle, so input accordingly.
    • Wait for the process to complete, and then transfer the Potion Bottles from the output section to your inventory.

But following these steps, you’ll have your empty potion bottles. To save yourself trips from sand beaches back to your workbench, either place a portal from that location or collect a lot of Sand and store it in your inventory.
