Key Points
- The Grand Portal allows visitors from far away to enter and purchase items from your store.
- The sole purpose of a Grand Portal is to increase customer traffic, especially in areas with low footfall.
- You can unlock the Grand Portal after reaching Alchemy Level 5.
Your store in Alchemy Factory will take a hit if no customers show up and spread the word. Luckily, you can somewhat force customers to visit your store by placing a Grand Portal nearby. That way, you are always guaranteed that someone will drop by, which could increase your store’s reputation.

How to Get Grand Portals

Grand Portals aren’t like regular structures that can be unlocked in the Research Tree. Rather, you need to progress through the story quests until you level up to Alchemy Level 5. Each time you level up, you will get new materials added to your crafting list. At level 5, you will find the Grand Portal Sigil unlocked for you.
You can then purchase the Grand Portal Sigil from the merchant store nearby. Each Sigil will cost 16 silver, and you require 3 sigils and 60 rocks to unlock the portal recipe. You will also require 1 extra sigil to craft the portal, so purchase a total of 4 sigils. Then, head back to your workbench to unlock the recipe.

As the final step, head over to your Build menu and find the Grand Portal under the Furniture section. Spend the remaining 1 Grand Portal Sigil and 20 stones to build the portal. You can then place it against any wall and wait for customers to come through.
Is the Grand Portal Required
In my opinion, I find the addition of the Grand Portal handy in early game, especially when customer traffic is a bit low. Plus, it doesn’t take too long to get the Grand Portal Sigil added to the store, and you don’t need to add it to any blueprint directory either. I recommend just placing the portal in your store and waiting for customers to roll in.
Customers who enter the store through the portal act like any other customer. They may not buy anything, and they might not give your store a good rating, so it’s not any different from a regular customer who comes by. Once they are done, they will leave through the portal they came from.
In a way, if you have a store section that receives less footfall, placing a portal there will help drive some much-needed traffic.

No, only customers who use the portal can enter and exit through the portal.
Do I need to create an exit/entry point with the portals?
No, just one portal will act as the exit and entry point for the customers.
