SAND – How to Get Aurogen Crystals

By Kirthana KJuly 3, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Aurogen Crystals are found commonly around the coral reef biome.
    • While looking around, keep an eye out for large purple or indigo-hued crystals that are usually found on rocky terrain.
    • Use your cannon to shatter it and pick it up but beware of radiation from the crystal that will eat up your health.

SAND: Raiders of Sophie isn’t just about overtaking enemies for the best loot. You might need to scavenge for resources to help you upgrade your tech tree or unlock new crafting items. Aurogen Crystals are the rarest items to find, and also the most dangerous.

The most dangerous resource to get your hands on is Raw Aurogen Crystal, since it emits radiation when you get too close to it. To find this material, you need to head over to the coral reef biome and look around for large purple crystals jutting out from the ground. They spawn randomly but are usually found on rocky terrain.

When you spot one, get close to it and use your cannon to shatter it. Wait for it to shatter completely before going ahead to collect it. You will spot a fragment of the Aurogen Crystal on the ground. Now, you cannot store this item in your inventory, since it is too large to do so. The only way to gather them is to pick it up with your hands.

    Tips on Collecting Aurogen Crystals

As mentioned earlier, it will emit radiation, so I recommend healing yourself up to max health before stepping out of your ship. Also, during this time, you will be vulnerable to attacks, since you can’t use weapons once you have the Aurogen Crystal. Have your teammates cover your back while you make your way to the main deck.

After collecting the crystal, quickly get out of the area and find the extraction point. If you start stacking up crystals, they will continue to emit radiation, so it is best to get out of the area quickly with whatever crystals you have in hand. Also, Aurogen Crystals are highly sought after, so you will encounter enemies while trying to farm them.

Do not keep these crystals on your ship for long periods of time, especially if you have farmed multiple of them. Aurogen Crystals are known to explode if they are shot down, and your Trampler will be destroyed if you are under attack. Hence why it is necessary to extract as quickly as you can and also avoid enemy encounters up close.

    FAQs

What are Aurogen Crystals used for?

Aurogen Crystals can be crafted into Crystals and used in trading. You will require 4 Aurogen Crystals to craft 1 Crystal. You can also sell Aurogen Crystals as it is. If you find any tech tree upgrade that requires Aurogen Crystals, then they can be used here too.

Can I find Aurogen Crystals at Voyage and Storm Dive?

Yes, there are chances of finding the larger Aurogen Crystal spawns around these areas, but their spawn locations are random.

I can’t find any Aurogen Crystals, what do I do?

Since their spawn chances are random, you can try playing another match and explore the map thoroughly to find them.
