Dragon Ball Sparking Zero NEO DLC – What If Yamcha Won The Cell Games

    By Kirthana KJuly 30, 2026Updated:July 30, 20264 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • The follow-up to Yamcha’s storyline progresses after the rest of the team encounters Cell and his minions.
    • Yamcha will be tasked with defeating all the Cell Juniors while Gohan and Goku take over Cell’s fight.
    • This storyline triggers if Yamcha wasn’t fast enough to beat Android 19 and 20, which will invite the other androids to visit Earth.

Yamcha’s storyline is short, but offers several fight sequences where you get to unlock different What If scenarios. To get the Cell Games scenario, you need to first encounter Android 19 and 20 from a previous encounter and not meet the requirement for the branching.

How to Get the Reward for Their Best Effort Story Path

While following Yamcha’s story mode progression, Yamcha will get a message from Future Trunks about androids who will invade Earth in three years. Once the three years are up, Yamcha, Goku, and the rest of the team search the city to find them. But only Yamcha ends up finding them, which locks him in combat against Android 19 and 20. If Yamcha takes too long with any of the fights, Goku and the gang will finally appear and try to help him in battle.

But Goku is unable to fight further because of the heart virus that gets triggered during the fight. Luckily, Yamcha has the cure, but they had to retreat from the fight. This triggers the arrival of other androids and a being called Cell, who quickly consumes Android 17 and 18. He then takes down Vegeta and Trunks, which triggers the Cell Games.

    Yamcha vs. Cell Juniors

Cell arrives after 10 days for the Cell Games, but he isn’t alone. Along with him are several Cell Juniors, who are tasked with defeating the others in the group while Cell deals with Gohan and Goku. Cell aimed to draw out Gohan’s dormant power by angering him.

Hence why he required all the Cell Juniors with him to fight everyone else. It is now up to Yamcha to protect the others while reassuring Gohan to fight Cell. Two outcomes will come from this.

    Gohan vs. Cell

The first outcome is if Yamcha fights each Cell Junior quickly so Gohan can defeat Cell without Goku’s help. For this, I recommend using Kamehameha to push the Cell Junior away, then using the time available to power up for your ultimate attack.

In between, land several combo moves until you get the Spirit Ball skill active. Rinse and repeat this step for all Cell Juniors to quickly eliminate them. This will give Gohan the confidence to power up and use his ultimate to defeat Cell once and for all.

    Goku vs. Cell

In case Yamcha couldn’t fight all the Cell Juniors quickly, or if he is defeated, Gohan will step in and fight the remaining Cell Juniors. This will also awaken Gohan’s greater power, which he uses to take down all the Cell Juniors and also fight Cell. But that isn’t enough to get rid of Cell, so Goku does one thing that will stop Cell, which is to sacrifice himself.

This isn’t the end of Cell, as he returns once more to face Gohan this time. Now armed with new power, Gohan quickly dispatches a powerful Kamehameha, which obliterates Cell. Yamcha and team celebrate Gohan and Goku’s sacrifice in defeating Cell, restoring peace to Earth once more.

    FAQs

Can I use other characters to fight the Cell Juniors?

There’s no option to change characters unless required, so you have to use Yamcha for the fight.

    Will Yamcha fight Cell too?

Currently, there is no story path where Yamcha will fight Cell head-to-head.

Is this the only ending for Yamcha?

So far, the story for Yamcha ends with this questline, so you can either get Gohan or Goku to defeat Cell to get either of the endings.
