Marathon – How to Enter Pinwheel Base

By Kirthana KMarch 9, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • There are two known ways to enter the Pinwheel Base.
    • You can either go through the door on top of the Destroyed Wing or use the Pinwheel Access Terminals.
    • Pinwheel Base is a great location to loot valuables and pick up new quests.

Getting inside the Pinwheel base on the Outpost map is not straightforward, and you need to plan your strategy to navigate it effectively. Once you find a way to the main control area, you are free to collect valuable items here.

How to Enter the Pinwheel Base via Destroyed Wing Entrance

Make your way to the northern section of Pinwheel Base and head up the platforms above Orientation. Keep heading southeast until you come across some destroyed platforms. You need to climb all the way to the top, where you will find a door that requires the Destroyed Wing Key. Across this area is another door with a board on top. Take a look at the board to spot 4 red blocks.

Your goal here is to find 4 red panels scattered across the area and shoot them. The spawn points of these panels are random, so you will require a keen eye to find all 4 of them. You will usually spot them around the door area or on the destroyed wing walls, floor, and roof. Once all the panels are destroyed, enter the doorway and continue south to reach Pinwheel Base.

How to Enter the Pinwheel Base via Pinwheel Access Terminal

If you plan to use the Access Terminals to enter Pinwheel Base, you will need to find the required keycards to unlock them. You can interact with any of the Access Terminals around:

    • Flight Control
    • Processing
    • Dormitories

Take a look at the terminal beside the door to see what color keycards and the number of keycards required. The green and yellow keycards are located inside the buildings around Outpost, while the red keycards are found on the roof.

    • Green keycards are easily spotted out in the open while checking out desks inside the various rooms.
    • Yellow keycards are locked inside white boxes that you need to interact with.
    • For red keycards, look around for terminals on the rooftops to interact with and collect them.

Head back to the Pinwheel Access Terminal to unlock the door. Make your way to the elevator in the next room and hack the terminal beside the elevator. Once the lift door unlocks, interact with the terminal inside the elevator and head up.

Activate the large UESC door ahead and go through it. The next step here is to find two terminals and activate them to unlock the UESC door on the upper floor. You will find them on the right and left side corridors. After that, go through the newly unlocked doors to reach Pinwheel Base.

    FAQs

Which is the easiest route to enter Pinwheel Base?

Going through the Destroyed Wing entrance is the easiest and quickest way to reach Pinwheel Base.

How many keycards do I need to find for the Pinwheel Access Terminal?

While at the Access Terminal, check out the signboard above the terminal to know how many keycards you need to collect.

I can’t find any keycards around Outpost. What do I do?
