My Winter Car – How to Change Car Color

By Kirthana KJanuary 5, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Rerolling a previous save or using mods will help you get the car color you wish.
    • You can also change the car color using the MSC Editor.
    • Changing your car color is purely cosmetic and offers no extra boosts.

Since My Winter Car is all about owning and showing off your custom car, it would make sense that you would require the best car color that is suited to your style. Unfortunately, the game applies random trim colors whenever you get the car from Reijo, so you might have to resort to other means to get your desired car color.

How to Change Car Color by Rerolling in My Winter Car

    Car Color My Winter Car

Before speaking to Reijo to purchase the Corris Rivet, make a save file by heading over to your toilet. After that, purchase the Corris Rivet from him for500 mk. In case the color isn’t to your liking, reload your last save and repeat the process till you get your desired color.

Using Player Save Files to Change Car Color

There is another way to change your car color, and that is to get another player’s save file and merge it with yours. Just copy the savefile.txt from the other player’s save file and paste it into your save file folder. You could also use mods to change your car color.

Using MSC Editor to Change Car Color

    • Start a new save file or choose your current save if you haven’t bought your car yet, then close the game.
    • Open MSC Editor and open carparts.txt.
    • Type in vingen4 in the filters and select the Dictionary.
    • Under here, change the ColorsBody to any value between A to Y.
    • You could also change the VIN code and get the desired car color by typing in carbodyx3c in the filters and input the letter value.
    • To change the vinyl roof color, type carbodyx3v in the filters and change the value to various letters.
    • Save your changes and restart your system.

The following letters represent the car body colors:

    CodeColor
    ADark Gray
    BNature White

    FAQs

Can I change the car color after building my car?

It is possible to change your car color after getting a car using MSC Editor.

I don’t see any changes made to my car, what happened?

In case you don’t see your changes, you should try the following.

    • Make sure you have saved changes if using MSC Editor and restart your system.
    • If that didn’t work, delete all files in the game folder except for carparts.txt.
    • Set this file to read only, start a new game and save it, then change the file back to read and write.

Why didn’t my car pick up the color I wanted?

Depending on your car type, certain cars cannot apply certain colors. You could check this site to know what cars accept what colors and parts.
