Obtaining the new mounts in the WoW Midnight update is quite a grind. If you wish to get your hands on the Nether-Warped Drake, then you are expected to spend several hours trying to farm it. Unfortunately, this entirely depends on RNG, but there are a few ways to speed up the process.

How to Get the Nether-Warped Drake
The Nether-Warped Drake egg is found randomly inside treasure chests while fishing. There are no restrictions on your fishing area, and you will find the egg across the region’s water bodies. For me, I found that the best spots for the egg spawn are at Silvermoon City pool and the pools in Voidstorm. If you haven’t unlocked Voidstorm yet, you need to follow the main story quest until you have completed the “No Fear of the Dark” quest to unlock Voidstorm.
Tips to Get the Nether-Warped Drake Egg
Usually, collecting the egg is entirely dependent on RNG. Also, I realised that my fishing gear and fishing proficiency did not impact the spawn rate at all. So whether you own the best or worst gear, the spawn rate is the same. But there are two ways to increase your loot chance.
- Using the Midnight Angler’s Grand Line with your chosen pole will double the number of treasure chests you pull out.
- Use the oceanic vortex pools inside Voidstorm to get a better chance of catching the egg.
Fishing at Voidstorm
Since obtaining the Midnight Angler’s Grand Lane is a tougher task in itself, my next best bet was to fish inside the vortex pools of Voidstorm. While exploring the region, check around for random pool spawns with a floating black orb on them. They usually spawn around the area between the Nexus Point Antius, The Ingress, and Stormaron Citadel, but they are also located all around Voidstorm.
Each pool lasts 5 minutes after spawning, giving you enough time to fish. Now, this is where you will require better fishing proficiency and tools, so the better your level and gear are, the higher your chances of catching the Nether-Warped Drake egg. It’s best to come back here after increasing your fishing proficiency and getting better equipment to get the Nether Warped Drake egg in no time.
