WoW Forever has a list of new quests to pick up for some extra rewards and lore. Apparently, Talxanris Shadowsong got wind that someone was willing to risk their life to share some valuable information. It is now up to you to find this person and bring them back to him safely.

How to Complete the Turncoat Quest
This particular quest in WoW Forever is easy to miss, since the map doesn’t really indicate who will have this quest ready for you. But once you find the actual quest giver, the rest of the quest is easy to follow. The way I found the quest was while exploring Valanaar on Zephras Isle. In the southernmost section of the area, just east of the bridge, is a building that you can enter and find Talxanris Shadowsong, the High Elder of Zephras Isle.
Speak to him and select the Turncoat quest from the log. This will guide you to a supposed “traitor” who is risking his life to bring back some valuable information. You need to meet the defector at the location indicated in the quest log.
Find the Secluded House in Shen’dar Highlands
Luckily, the location where you need to go is marked on the map. The place you need to go to is the northern section of Valanaar. But the place is swarming with Al’Aketh Assassins, making it a tough spot to traverse without getting caught in the crossfire. I recommend switching to multiplayer for this part, unless you are confident in your abilities to take them down. Use crowd-control attacks to take down multiple enemies at once. Stealth can also help if you wish to avoid confrontation.
If you require some extra XP, you can speak to the Peacekeeper NPC leaning against the tree around the area. She will ask you to slay 10 Al’Aketh Assassins in the area anyways, so it’s technically like hitting two birds with one stone. Continue to go up the hill heading north and enter the house as mentioned in the quest log. You will find the Dead Cultist inside; interact with his body to complete the quest and get 650 XP.

What happens after finding the Dead Cultist?
After completing this quest, you will get a series of quests following right after that will follow your journey in delivering the secret blue crystal found on the Dead Cultist’s body and returning it to Talxanris Shadowsong.
Can I prevent the Cultist from dying?
Unfortunately, having the cultist dead is part of the questline, so there is no way to keep the cultist alive even if you tried hard.
The quest doesn’t trigger for me; what do I do?
Keep progressing through the main storyline and visit the area again until Talxanris Shadowsong is willing to speak to you.
