How to Find the Icy Frost Bear
The Icy Frost Bear’s domain is found to the east of Liones. Take the Hunter’s Hut waypoint and travel east to find a small ice-filled island. Next, you need to change the time to past 6:00 PM to find a large ice dome in the middle of the island. You need to break the dome to release the Icy Frost Bear from within.
Normal attacks will not work here, and you can’t use all characters to break the dome. I had the best luck using Merlin’s adventure skill, and I could break the dome with just one attack. Another character you can try is Guila, but her adventure skill is a bit weaker and could take several tries to break the dome.
How to Beat the Icy Frost Bear
Now that you have summoned the Icy Frost Bear, you need to bring its health down just enough to capture it. You could also kill it to add the codex entry. This fight is relatively easy, and it’s also really easy to kill if you use a powerful attack. Avoid using heavy attacks and stick to normal attacks for this fight. I preferred switching between Guila and Diane for the fight, as their attacks weren’t too heavy to kill the Icy Frost Bear.
The Icy Frost Bear just has one basic attack, where it lunges at you and swipes. This swipe might freeze you and keep you in a static position. Once you break out of the icy state, continue to attack it just until its health is almost zero. Then spam the Radiant Potion of Charm or the new Brilliant Potion of Charm to capture it. It could take several potions tries to successfully capture it, so keep going until you can add this riding mount to your list of growing pets.
