How to Prepare for the Minefield

Before stepping foot in the Minefield map, you should prepare your inventory. The first thing I did was drop off all my valuables at my shelter. The Attic proved highly useful in storing most of my inventory items. Then, I planned on carrying only the essentials, which included medical supplies, food, ammo, and specialized armor.
Visit the Generalist at the Village first to collect food and water. Check for other supplies like batteries and flashlights to help travel at night. If you want to skip night travel, then check the store for Melatonin. Once you stock up here, drop off at the Doctors at the School to pick up Splints, Medkits, Bandages, and/or Painkillers.
Then, travel to the Outpost to check out the Gunsmith’s wares. Collect a scope if it is available to help you see enemies and mines in the Minefield better. Also, check for high-level armor plates, helmets, and tactical rigs to protect you from snipers around the area.
While still in the Outpost, if you linger here long enough, you might find an airdrop full of supplies. Do raid it and use the shelter at the Outpost to store unwanted items.
How to Navigate the Minefield
I found the best way to navigate the Minefield was to stick to the dirt road. Mines are always hidden in the tall grass and behind trees, which will pose a huge risk since they are not clearly visible. Staying on the clean path helped me spot some mines using my scope. Also, by using the tankers as vantage points, I could scope out my surroundings for more mines and enemies.
If you are like me and just can’t stand waiting around and scoping out enemies, then there is a hack to draw them out. If you find a mine nearby, shoot at it to detonate. This will alert all nearby enemies to your area, which will make it easier to clear them out. Only attempt this method if you are carrying enough medkits to heal yourself and ample ammo to defeat them.
Looting the Minefield

While sticking to the dirt tracks, you will find bunkers that may hold loot like ammo, weapons, and supplies. Most of the loot containers would be empty, so this entirely depends on RNG. Don’t forget to collect loot from corpses scattered within these bunkers.
As you travel along the path, you might find Watchtowers. Personally, I usually avoid the watchtower area, since they are heavily guarded. But if you are brave enough, you could clear out the area and head up the stairs to find more loot containers.
How to Exit the Minefield
This time around, I decided to stick to the yellow border tape of the Minefield while making my way back. Quickly make a run around the area to avoid enemies and mines. If you end up triggering a mine, stay still and heal up after the detonation.
Usually, if you had cleared the Minefield of enemies during the looting process, then you should be relatively safe. Otherwise, hide behind rocks and scope the area. Shoot a bullet or two into the air to draw out enemies. Once the coast is clear, make a dash to the exit to escape into the Outpost once again.
FAQs
Is it worth checking out the Minefield map?
If you are looking for better loot, then avoid the Minefield map. This map is extremely high risk with low rewards, but if you are looking for a challenge, then exploring the Minefield is the way to go.
What’s beyond the Minefield map?
Beyond the Minefield is the Vostok region, and you will first set foot in the Apartment map. While this area is filled with high-level loot, dying here will result in permadeath and losing all your progress.
Where will be my respawn point if I die in the Minefield?
