Road to Vostok – How to Get the Attic Key

In Road to Vostok, you will quickly run out of space in your cabin for storing all your required items. Fortunately, there are a few other shelters scattered around the map. Among these, the largest to find early on is the Attic. To access it, you first need to acquire a key, which takes some effort to obtain. ​

​How to Find the Attic Key​

To get the attic key, you must complete one of the Generalist’s quests. If you haven’t found the Generalist yet, he is the first vendor you will encounter on the first map, the Village. Once you unlock him, proceed through his questline until you reach the Homemade quest, which requires you to hand over an item called Kilju. ​

How to Complete the Homemade Quest​

Kilju cannot be purchased; you need to craft it. To craft Kilju, you will require:

• 1x Bucket
• 1x W. Lock
• 3x Water
• 1x Sugar
• 1x Yeast

I found most of these items while scavenging the homes around the Village. While checking out each home, reach for the cabinets and lockers to find them. Also, there is a slight chance that you might get it from fallen enemies. The only thing that you can’t find easily via scavenging is W.Lock, aka, the Water Lock.​

How to Get Water Lock​

While there is a chance to get the Water Lock during exploration, I found the easiest method to get it is completing one of the Doctor’s quests. Head over to the Doctor’s location and check the quest log to find one called Hypovolemia. For the quest, you need to hand over 3 Saline bottles. ​

Again, you need to check the cabinets and storage areas around the Village, but they might also spawn in the School. Personally, I had the best chance while uncovering the contents inside the School’s medical cabinets. The Doctor might sell a bottle or two here and there, so check his wares frequently. Some enemies might also carry saline, so check every downed enemy for it. After finding the Saline, turn them in to the Doctor to get the Water Lock.​

Crafting Kilju​

To craft Kilju, head over to your inventory and select the Crafting tab at the bottom. Scroll down to find the option to craft KilSelect the Start Input option and add everything to the list.ist. Click on Craft after adding everything, then wait for 30 seconds. ​

After obtaining the Kilju bucket in your inventory, visit the Generalist and scroll down to find his quest. Select the Start Delivery option under the quest, select the Kilju bucket from your inventory to add it, then click on Complete. Check your inventory to find the Attic Key. ​

Where to Use the Attic Key​

The Attic is found right beside the Generalist’s store. Exit his shop and go left, then use the barnyard exit again to get back. From the exit, take another left to find a ramp going up. Get up this ramp and use the key on the locked door to unlock the Attic. You can now use this area as a secondary shelter to store a lot more items.​
