Farever – 10 Best Tips for Beginners

    By Jordan BlakeMay 7, 2026Updated:May 8, 20268 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Claim the free mounts and cosmetic items from the Shop as soon as you start, and make use of Arsenal weapons and runes to strengthen your build early on.
    • Focus on map completion, dungeon runs, and defeating monsters to level up quickly and unlock new regions.
    • Unlock the second region early to access the Spark Recycler, Guild Merchant, extra storage, and better ways to manage inventory and earn gold.

Farever launched on May 6 to overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. If you are also thinking about jumping into this MMORPG but don’t know where to start, this article is just for you. In this article, we will cover how you can have the best start in Farever.

Farever Tip # 1 | Free Mounts and Items

Upon starting your game, the first thing you should do is get your free mount. To do that, press the Esc key to open the Game Menu and head over to the Shop. In there, there will be five items to claim for free, namely:

    • Sparkling Horsean
    • Sparkling Proto-moth
    • Sparktail
    • Farseeker Goggles
    • Farseeker Cloak

To equip a mount, head over to the Collections menu, and you can select whichever mount you want to equip. You can change the mount key using the Hotkeys tab in the Options menu.

    Farever Tip # 2 | Weapon Skills

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

As of the release, there are four classes to choose from – Warrior, Rogue, Mage, and Priest, with Monk and Druid coming in with later updates. Every class is going to start out with a unique set of skills that unlock as you level up. However, half of your skills are going to come from the weapons you have equipped.

Every weapon will have one basic skill for light attacks and one cooldown-based skill for a heavy attack. However, some weapons require you to use both hands, and those will have up to four skills attached to them.

Do remember to continue upgrading your weapon skills with XP as you explore more. To upgrade your weapon, head over to the Navelin weapon station and use the required materials to upgrade your weapon. However, I would recommend saving these materials for higher-level weapons, as these upgrades on lower-level weapons are not going to be that impactful.

    Farever Tip # 3 | Arsenal Weapon

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

Once you start having extra weapons at your disposal, you should equip them in the Arsenal slot below in the Weapons tab. What this will allow you to do is choose one of the skills from the weapon. You can switch the skill on the Arsenal weapon by holding the left-click on the weapon and then selecting a different skill.

For example, if you pick a weapon with a shield skill, you will simply gain this shield ability just for having that weapon in your arsenal slot. This will come in quite handy when you are facing bosses.

    Farever Tip # 4 | Gear Salvaging

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

Once you have played the game, you will run into the problem of having gear that you don’t use now. Instead of discarding it, try to unlock the second map region as quickly as possible. In this second region, there is a Spark Recycler at the location marked in the map above which will take your old gear and convert it back to raw materials that you can use for other items.

Farever Tip # 5 | Inventory Space and Guild Merchant

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

The biggest problem many players face is running out of inventory space. To solve this problem, you need to have your second map region unlocked. At the location of the Spark Recycler, you will also find a Guild Merchant.

You can trade your old items with him for small pouches of gold worth 250 gold. Right now, this is the only way to free up inventory space apart from discarding. The Guild Merchant also has a bank option, which allows you to store items you don’t want but want to use later.

A quick bonus tip is that if you have Lost Packages in your inventory and you need extra gold, just right-click them to convert them into completed packages. Giving these completed packages to Guild Merchant will give 100 gold. The Guild Merchant also grants you a Net that you can use to capture creatures as pets.

    Farever Tip # 6 | Runes

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

Upon completing your first dungeon, the game will offer you some runes in a chest, which will show up in your inventory with a purple background. Exploring more dungeons will grant you more chests that contain runes in them.

Runes provide additional effects that enhance your class skills. Several abilities come with rune slots, and you can unlock their bonuses by right-clicking the slot. The available bonus depends on the rune you’ve obtained.

Once you find the effect you want, simply left-click to equip it. Since these upgrades can significantly improve your abilities, it’s a good idea to activate and use runes whenever you get them.

    Farever Tip # 7 | Map Completion

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

If you’re unsure where to start, open your map and check the right side of the screen. There will be a list of mini-quests for you to complete. You’ll also notice several gray question mark icons. I would recommend heading to those locations first, as they offer you objectives. Visiting and completing them rewards you with plenty of XP.

Each region has a list of objectives that you can clear to gain XP. To unlock new regions, you need to find an obelisk that has a big beacon above it. Interacting with it will unlock new regions.

    Farever Tip # 8 | Codex XP

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

Apart from completing quests, you should also focus on gaining more Codex XP. You can check your current Codex XP by pressing the L key, which opens region-wise stats. Here, press on the red icon with swords on it to check the monsters you have defeated till now.

You will notice each monster has a progress bar. This means defeating a certain number of monsters of a variant grants you XP along with dropped items.

Farever Tip # 9 | Exploration Tips and Fast Travel

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

While you unlock new regions with an obelisk, it also serves as your respawn and fast travel point. Upon interacting with it, you will get the following options:

    • Fly to another obelisk
    • Set point of teleportation
    • View the cutscene of the region

On selecting teleportation, you will simply fly up in the sky and travel there as this ball of energy. So it’s not instant fast travel, but it’s automatic travel, which saves a lot of time.

Do note that there is no swimming as of yet in this game. However, you can walk underwater and complete objectives that are present on the seabed. But remember that your time underwater is limited.

Farever Tip # 10 | Crafting: Alchemy and Cooking

    Image via TheGamesWatch | Aragon

When you start the game, apart from selecting classes, you will also have to pick from three jobs for yourself, with your options being:

    • Blacksmith
    • Alchemist
    • Cook

You’re going to go speak to Job Welldon, and then he will give you the quest unlocks for each profession. It’s going to cost more and more gold the more professions you learn.

I would recommend picking Alchemist as your first job, as it allows you to craft potions for healing, strength, intelligence, and dexterity. Alternatively, you can pick Cook as your second job, as it will unlock recipes that grant you more buffs.
