Fatekeeper – How to Find the Portal Room

    By Kirthana KJune 3, 2026Updated:June 3, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • The portal room is located in the underground section of Haven.
    • You need to reach Haven first, then enter the room beside the watermill.
    • Continuing down the stairs here will take you to the portal room.

The quests in Fatekeeper don’t offer a lot of hints or explanations, so most of the time you are on your own. At the very start of the game, you are tasked with finding the portal room. There are no other guidelines on where or how to find it, except that you need to reach Haven to find it.

    How to Reach Haven

Your very first objective as you load into the game is to find the portal room. After talking to the rat called Kor Guran, you both will agree to find the blacksmith, Terul. That involves reaching Haven first. Luckily, Haven isn’t too far from your spawn point, making it easy to reach this area within the first few minutes of being in the game.

Before embarking on your journey, I recommend taking some time and scavenging the area. You will find a few consumables that you could use at the Alchemy Pot to create potions. During your exploration, you will find a long stone bridge that will take you to the other side of the mountains.

Get through the bridge and explore the area to find a cave entrance. Enter the cave and go along the linear path to get to the other side to reach Haven.

Keep going until you encounter a lake on your left. Now, there are two paths ahead: one will take you up the stairs, and the other, on your left, will lead you to a small entrance near the watermill. During my first run, I took the path on the right towards the larger house, which yielded no result on where the portal room might be.

But I did uncover the Alchemy Pot and the Map room. While investigating the map, I got the hint that the portal room is somewhere below Haven. That means that I need to find a way to the underground basement, which isn’t found in my current area. So I had to backtrack and enter the doorway near the windmill instead.

Inside this new room, you will find Terul the Blacksmith at work. He won’t say much, so continue down the stairs on your right. You will find a few trinkets on the table to your left, so pick them up before going through the room to your right. Interact with the altar here to unlock the Portal and use it to get to your next destination.

    FAQs

Is there anything else to do in Haven?

Currently, Haven will be your base of operations, and you can use the portal to teleport back home in the game.

What happens after activating the portal?

Activating the portal will take you to the combat arena, which will act as a tutorial to help you learn the ropes of the gameplay.

How do I exit the combat arena?

Look around for the portal exit sigil on the walls of the mountain. Use telekinesis on the sigil to unlock the portal and head back to base
