How to Get 8-Star Kyber Crystals
Mostly, Kyber Crystals will drop while defeating enemies either around the Star Wars map or on the base map. You might need to fight a bunch of them at once before one of them drops a chest that may contain the Kyber Crystal. But obtaining a 6 or 8 Star Kyber Crystal is quite difficult, as you need to defeat one of the newer enemies added to the game. During your exploration, there is a chance you might bump into an enemy called the Rancor.
The Rancor is the only enemy that offers a random chance to drop a level 6 or level 8 Kyber Crystal. If you are having a hard time trying to take them down, I personally found using any Ninjago weapon, like the Nunchucks, helped a great deal. Playing with friends will also help, especially if you are at a lower level. You might need to repeatedly defeat several Rancors until you get the elusive 8-Star Kyber Crystal.
How to Use Kyber Crystals
Kyber Crystals can now be used in crafting Lightsabers. Unlike the previous updates, where you need to find them via exploration or quests, you can use Kyber Crystals to craft Lightsabers at the Rebel Workbench. The rarity and color of the Kyber Crystal will determine the Lightsaber’s strength and the skills they will obtain. If you were lucky enough to get the 8-star Kyber Crystal, then you can go ahead and craft a legendary Lightsaber.
Now, the color you get determines what sort of power your Lightsaber will wield. White and blue crystals will help perfect counterattacks after blocking, while purple and red crystals will increase combo damage. Owning green or yellow crystals will improve and increase the user’s mobility, which helps get around the battlefield quickly.
