RE9 – How To Collect All 3 Detonator Parts

By Jordan BlakeMarch 1, 20265 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • All three Detonator parts are scattered across East Raccoon City and must be collected in a specific progression path.
    • You’ll need to restore power, gather fuel, and unlock shortcuts to access each rooftop location for parts safely.
    • Once the Distributor, Signal Receiver, and Relay are combined, Leon can finally blast open the gate to Raccoon City Center.

One of Leon’s first major objectives in Resident Evil Requiem is repairing a broken detonator left behind at the city’s central gate. To make it functional, you must track down three different components hidden across rooftops and hostile zones. Here’s a step-by-step breakdown of how to collect all three parts with ease.

    RE9 Detonator Part Location # 1 | Distributor

Your first part to collect is the Distributor. It is located on the rooftop of the Logistics Warehouse near Central Camp. Follow the steps given below to obtain it:

    • On the second floor of the Logistics Warehouse, open the partially shut garage door and go inside.
    • Eliminate the zombies inside and shoot down the hooks on which the crates are hanging to create a climbable path.
    • Traverse the upper scaffolding and collect the Cedarbrook Apartments Key along the way (this will be useful for the second part).
    • Continue your way upward to the warehouse rooftop. There you’ll find a yellow crate with a blinking red light containing the Distributor.

Once secured, return to Central Camp to move on to the next part.

    RE9 Detonator Part Location # 2 | Signal Receiver

The Cedarbrook Apartments Key you collected earlier will come in handy for this next part. The Signal Receiver sits on the rooftop of Cedarbrook Apartments, but reaching it requires powering up the underground gate first. Follow the steps below to get the Signal Receiver:

    • Use the Cedarbrook Apartments Key to access the residential area by opening a yellow gate.
    • Enter the Underground Parking Garage, eliminate the zombies there, and locate the powerless battery gate with the help of your map.
    • Once you start going deeper into the garage, you’ll find a flooded area. Climb the nearby ladder and navigate to the room with the green light to collect the first Battery.
    • For the second battery, head into the Sewage Facility via the lower ladder. Explore your surroundings and find a Valve Handwheel.
    • Place this handwheel next to the metallic gate, and defeat spawned enemies while fully rotating the valve to unlock access. Once inside, make your way to the room with the green light by going up the stairs.
    • Make your way back to the powerless battery gate and insert both batteries to open the parking gate and trigger a cutscene that grants the BSAA Container Key.
    • From there, head inside Cedarbrook Apartments and collect a Rusty Crank found on the ground floor lobby.
    • Use this Rusty Crank to open the locked gate on the first floor of the Cedarbrook Apartments to access the rooftop.
    • Face the horde of zombies present on the rooftop and make your way to the tower with blinking red lights. Do remember to take cover during a turret/mortar attack.
    • Open the yellow crate to obtain the Broken Signal Receiver. You’ll notice that Leon remarks that the part is broken.
    • To repair that, you need to make your way back to the Central Camp and open the two BSAA Containers using the key you found earlier.
    • The two containers will provide you with a Marksman 1A Sniper, a repair kit, and a motorbike. Use the repair kit on the Broken Signal Receiver.

    RE9 Detonator Part Location # 3 | Detonator Relay

The final piece, the Relay, is located near Willis Tower and the Grimstone Building. You’ll need fuel to access it. Follow the steps given below to gain fuel and then obtain the part:

    • At the Central Camp, find a ladder wound up in a yellow rope. Shoot the rope bindings to access the ladder.
    • From there, make your way to the Gas Station (visible on your map). Inside, you’ll find an empty Gas Can. Make your way outside and spot a Fuel Tank to refill it.
    • Take the elevator from Central Camp back to the location where you found the Distributor. Climb down the stairs to fill up a gas-powered generator.
    • Once filled, open the electric gate and use the zipline to reach Willis Tower. Navigate through debris while making your way upwards to reach a broken elevator shaft.
    • Avoid the falling lifts and be careful of your footing as you will be standing on a glass floor. You can make the zombies fall down by shooting the glass.
    • Keep making your way upward while shooting the zombies to finally find the final part, the Detonator Relay.

Combine the Relay with the Distributor and Signal Receiver to complete the Detonator. Now return to Central Camp and blow open the gate to advance the story.

    FAQs

How do I unlock BSAA Container 02 in RE9?

You must open the Underground Parking Garage gate by inserting both batteries. A cutscene will reward you with the BSAA Container Key, allowing access to Container 02.

Can I collect the detonator parts in any order?

No. The Distributor must be collected first, as it unlocks access to other necessary tools and areas needed for the remaining parts.

What’s the fastest way back from Willis Tower?

After collecting the Relay, follow the rooftop path toward the Grimstone Building. Activating shortcut generators earlier makes returning to Central Camp much easier.
