In Crimson Desert, you will cross some puzzle areas that hold valuable loot. Solving puzzles isn’t a very difficult task, but you might be stuck with some of them as you progress through the game. Once you reach Hernand City, you can investigate Bluemont Manor to find a few Strongbox puzzles. One of them happens to be the Owl puzzle that holds a valuable item inside once solved.

Bluemont Manor Owl Strongbox Puzzle Location
You will find the owl strongbox puzzle in Bluemont Manor, located in the western section of Hernand City. The building you are looking for where the puzzle is located is to the north. There are several different ways to get inside. The easiest method I found to gain entry into Bluemont Manor is to complete all of the House Roberts side quests.
If you haven’t gotten that far, then head into the large building in the north through the dining room entrance and make your way upstairs. You will find this entrance in the west, just beside the large broken cart. If you are at the signboard to the north, you just need to turn to the west to find the entrance.
The puzzle is located on the second floor, inside Leon Roberts’ bedroom. It is the first door on the left after reaching the second floor.
How to Solve the Owl Strongbox Puzzle
Once upstairs, besides the large desk, there is a door that you can enter to find the Owl Strongbox puzzle. To solve the puzzle, you need to recreate an image of an owl by pressing the small buttons on the top row correctly. This will turn the empty blocks to reveal the rest of the owl image, but any wrong move will mess up the puzzle.
To solve the puzzle, follow the steps below from left to right.
- 1st button – Press four times
- 2nd button – Press four times
- 3rd button – Press four times
- 4th button – Press one time
Once done, the image of the owl will line up, and you can steal the Oath of Darkness from within.
How to Solve the Tumbler Wheel Puzzle
Before leaving Bluemont Manor for good, there is another puzzle to solve in the southern building. Again, you can get inside if you have completed the side quests for the area, or you have to do some climbing to reach the second-floor window. Scan the outer wall of the southern manor to find an open window. Scale the wall to reach said window and hop inside to enter the puzzle room.
The tumbler puzzle is a bit different than the owl puzzle. Over here, you will notice 5 different wheels on the puzzle device, and you need to spin the wheels a certain number of times to get the pistons on the device to move up. The puzzle solution is given below, starting from the wheels positioned left to right.
- Wheel 1 (leftmost): 5 Scrolls
- Wheel 2: 2 Scrolls
- Wheel 3: 4 Scrolls
- Wheel 4: 3 Scrolls
- Wheel 5 (rightmost): 5 Scrolls
Solving the puzzle will hand over the Finely Crafted Gold Necklace accessory, which can be worn similar to the Oath of Darkness.
