Apple Pie Recipe Details
To complete the mission, we will have to talk to a handful of NPCs in different locations and carryout specific tasks to obtain the item needed to craft the Apple Pie recipe.

The only mandatory requirement for the ingredient gathering is the talking to animal skill; the rest of the items can be obtained without any hassle.
Octopath Traveler 0 – Apple Pie Recipe Location
Just make your way to the Grandport at the Coastland Region of the map. Here in the market, just right on the road, you will find Fastidious Housewife NPC. Talk to her, and then select the option to Inquire on the left panel, and you will receive the Grandport Recipe Book x1.
The first part is over; now it’s time to hunt down three different types of seeds.
Lemon Seed Location
To acquire Lemon seed, head over to Sunshade in the Sunlands Region and talk to the Traveling Desert Chef. You will find him at the inn located north of the area.
Once you walk in, head to the table on the left, next to the stairs leading to the upper floor. Interact with him and purchase the Lemon Seed x1 for 3000 Leaves. You can haggle with him to reduce the price to 1500 Leaves.

Wheat Seed Location
This one will take us to the Shepherds Rock in the Highlands Region. Once you are in the area, head over to the southwest of the map to find the house with Veggie-loving Graybeard.
Talk to him and choose Contend and defeat his team to earn the Wheat Seed x1 along with Cabbage x3, Paprika x3, Tomato x3, and Carrot x3.
Apple Seed Location
You can buy the seed from a Happy Dog NPC, which requires the Talk to Animals skill.
Talk to Animal Skill Location: Head to the Sacred Flame Dais at Wishvale to earn the skills to speak to animals.
Happy Dog Location: With the skill in hand, head over to Grandport, southwest of the area. You will find a dog next to the shore, next to the market. You can buy the Apple Seed x1 from the Happy Dog for 4,400 Leaves. And yes, you can haggle the price of the seed down to 2,300 Leaves.

Yes. While Grape Juice gets your EXP up by 25% for 20 turns, Apple Pie raises the number to 50% for 20 turns. This is double the amount of XP gain compared to the Grape Juice effects.
Are the effects of Apple Pie permanent or temporary?
Sadly, any food-related effects get dragged into the temporary circle. When you consume an Apple Pie, the effects are limited to 20 turns; after the turn is over, so will the bonus effects from the food. The same goes for all other food items in the game.
