Where Winds Meet – How to Enable the Red Aura Health Bar

    By Kirthana KDecember 26, 2025Updated:July 22, 20264 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Start a Global game in Legend mode to get the red aura around the health bar.
    • The number next to the health bar signifies how many World Bosses and Campaign Bosses have been defeated.
    • Currently, there are no options to create a new character in Global.

There is something inherently unique about owning a health bar with a red aura around it in Where Winds Meet. With this unique coloration, you get to show your friends that you are playing at the max difficulty the game provides for now.

What does the Red Health Bar do?

Red Health Bar Where Winds Meet

The Red Health Bar works the same as a regular health bar, except it has a red aura around it to signify that the player is playing in Legend Mode. The circle beside the health bar has a number in it. This number changes each time you defeat a boss. If you want to play in Legend mode hoping for better loot, you should know that all bosses have the same loot pool, regardless of difficulty.

Do note that you cannot switch to Legend mode in the middle of your run. Rather, while making a new character, you can select Legend mode and start the game in it to get the unique health bar. Legend mode isn’t the final mode of the game, as you also have Hardcore mode as the final tier. The only difference between Legend and Hardcore is that Hardcore comes with permadeath, meaning you will lose your character once dead. Legend is a bit more forgiving in that aspect.

How to Change to Legend Mode?

    Legend Mode Where Winds Meet

You need to make a new character before starting Legend mode. You can get a new character by creating a new account entirely and starting over. Once you are ready, follow the steps below.

    • After logging in, head over to the Settings option in the main menu.
    • Select the Game tab, then find the Basic Settings option.
    • Under this, select Combat Difficulty > Legend.

    What’s New in Legend Mode?

You will receive new badges per boss killed, which you can then show off to your friends online. You also won’t get any assists while in this mode. Bosses will be tougher, so you need to plan your battle strategy accordingly instead of spamming attacks.

You can automatically show off your boss kills by the number that gets displayed beside your health bar. If things start getting difficult and you still want to retain your Legend status, it doesn’t hurt to ask for backup from your friends.

    FAQ

Can I change to Legend Mode anytime?

No, you need to start a new game to pick Legend mode. You can move to a lower difficulty from Legend but you can’t pick Legend if at a lower difficulty.

Can I make a new Global character to change difficulty?

Right now, the only way to make a new character is to delink your existing account and make a new account for a new character. You cannot store two Global characters in a single profile.

What do the two dots above my health bar mean?

These are your abilities to prevent death and take damage. If you have these abilities unlocked from your skill tree, the dots will fill up if certain conditions are met. Once filled, you get to activate them in the game.

Is playing on Legend Mode worth it?

Sure, if you think you have all the gameplay mechanics down and wish to flex your skills, then starting the game on Legend mode is worth the grind.
