Pokémon Champions – How to Recruit More Pokémon

By Kirthana KApril 8, 20264 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • You can recruit one free Pokémon per day from the Ranch and add it to your team for a limited time.
    • Pokémon can be purchased and added permanently using VP or Recruitment Tickets.
    • You can also return Pokémon via the Return option in the Recruitment screen.

Fighting other Pokémon head-to-head is the central theme of Pokémon Champions. For this reason, you will require the best Pokémon that the game has to offer. This process requires you to recruit Pokémon first, and you might have to work with the lineup given to you.

Where to Find Pokémon in Champions

While starting up Pokémon Champions, I had to go through the process of obtaining Pokémon to play with first. This process was a bit confusing for me, as I had no idea where to get Pokémon in the game. Luckily, through snooping around the in-game menu, I stumbled across the Ranch.

To find the Ranch, in the Champion’s main menu, select the Recruit option first. Then, select the Recruit Pokemon option. This will take you to the Ranch, where you will find a row of Pokémon waiting to be selected. Go through the given list of existing Pokémon and select the ones you wish to add to your roster.

How to Recruit and Return Pokémon

While recruiting Pokémon, you get one free Pokémon selection from the Ranch per day. This free Pokémon will be kept on trial for 7 days. Once the 7 days are up, you can choose to keep them in your team permanently using one of the two methods: by either spending VP or Recruitment Tickets.

If you plan on using VP, then you need to shell out 2,500 VP to add the Pokémon permanently. If you have Recruitment Tickets, then spending 1 ticket is enough to keep them on your team. If you have neither and you haven’t picked an action before the 7 days are up, then the Pokémon with the applied stats will be gone for good. You might find another variant of the same Pokémon while browsing through the Ranch lineup later on.

Another way to recruit Pokémon is to level up your Battle Pass. By playing the game and obtaining Season Points, you can increase your Battle Pass ranking. At particular levels, you get to unlock new Pokémon to add permanently to your team.

If you do not like a Pokémon in your team, visit the Recruit option again. This time, select the Return Pokemon option to send back any Pokemon obtained. You will not receive your spent VP or tickets back, nor will you receive the same Pokémon during the recruitment process.

    FAQs

Are there Shiny Pokémon in the game?

Yes, there are chances of Shiny Pokémon appearing in the Ranch during the recruitment process.

How long do I need to wait to find new Pokémon in the Ranch?

To get a new lineup in the Ranch, you need to wait 24 hours. You can use Quick Coupons to speed up the time if you don’t wish to wait too long.

Can I choose my Pokémon abilities?

No, all Pokémon added to the lineup will come with pre-acquired abilities and skills. These cannot be changed, but you can wait for the same Pokémon to appear in the lineup at a later time to check for different abilities.
