TBH: Task Bar Hero – How to Get Pets

By Kirthana KMay 30, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Some pets are obtained by defeating the right enemy type, while others are available as part of a DLC bundle.
    • Equipping pets in your hero taskbar will supply your team with passive boosts.
    • You will also get their passive perks while not equipping them.

There are a lot of functions to overlook while setting up your party in TBH: Task Bar Hero. While you can apply several perks using Runes, you might have passed over the section on owning Pets. Pets offer a unique feature that will further enhance your gameplay.

While checking out the Formations tab in your character menu, you won’t just find the hero list here. Right below the list of heroes is a small section called Pets. So far, you get 5 free pets and 3 DLC pets. Now, to get pets, you need to clear some of the levels to encounter certain enemy types. Once you find these enemies, defeat them to get the Pet as a drop.

I had to travel all around the various maps to find each of the 5 free pets available in the game. This was no easy task, as the more difficult a pet is to find, the higher the chances of it dropping from tougher enemies are. Plus, it also depends on RNG, so you might need to defeat several of the same enemy type until you get the required pet.

Below is a table of the type of pets to find, the required enemy you need to defeat, and the stage where you can find them.

    PetRequired EnemyHow to Get
    Bat–Act 1-8 & 1-9
    WatcherDefeat 5000 Giant FlyAct 2-4 & 2-5
    Burning SkeletonDefeat 5000 Fire SpiritAct 2-8 & 2-9
Blue GolemDefeat 5000 Hell GolemAct 3-6
    Dark SpiritDefeat 5000 GhostAct 3-4 & 3-5
    Sword–Supporter Pack DLC
    Butterfly–Supporter Pack DLC
    Dragon–Supporter Pack DLC

    How to Use Pets

Once you have unlocked a pet, you will find it under the Pets section under the Formation tab. Select each one to check out their passive abilities. Even if you don’t deploy a pet, its abilities will still remain active. Personally, I found keeping pets around seems to provide small perks like increasing gold multipliers, increasing chest drops, and more. Since each pet offers unique perks, here is a list of passive abilities that the pet will supply.

    PetPerk
Bat10% increased Common chest drop chance multiplier, 15% increased EXP gain
    Watcher15% increased Gold per kill
Burning Skeleton10% increased Stage Boss chest drop chance multiplier
Blue Golem15% increased Common chest drop chance multiplier
Dark Spirit15% increased Stage Boss chest drop chance multiplier
    Sword15% increased EXP gain
    Butterfly10% increased Gold per kill
Dragon20% increased Common chest drop chance, 15% increased Gold per kill, 20% increased EXP gain

    FAQs

Will the enemies spawn within these selected stages?

The enemies mentioned above commonly spawn within these Acts, and they might appear a level or two beyond or below as well.

How do I fast travel to a previously cleared Act?

Interact with the Portal icon at the bottom of the character menu to choose a stage that you had previously cleared.

How many bats will I encounter while clearing the stage?

Act 1-8 will spawn around 7 to 10 bats, making it a great place to farm the Bat pet.

Can I deploy more than 1 pet?

You are allowed to deploy only one pet at a time, but all pets and their passives will work regardless of whether they are deployed.
