My Winter Car – What does Firewood do
Since the game takes place in winter, one of the sources of heat would be to burn Firewood. The only way to farm firewood is to look around the area for trees that can be logged. There are a couple around the woodshed area, and if you can’t find any here, do check out the cottage too.
Look around for trees that you can interact with, and at that point, you can use an ax. Using the ax is the earliest way to chop wood down and farm firewood. Later on, you can use more advanced mechanics like the woodcutter to mass chop several logs at once.
Besides collecting wood, there aren’t any other reliable ways to stay warm. Hence why the first line of defense against the cold is to collect firewood and use it up whenever you can. Keep an eye on your body temperature levels by checking the top left corner. A low body temp will result in a game over, so continue to check it and adjust it accordingly.
How to get Firewood
Use F to equip the ax, then aim at the wood logs using LMB to pick them up and chop them. Later in the game, after picking up the woodcutting job from Livaloinen, you get to use the firewood cutter along with your tractor and trailer to cut and gather firewood. Each log chopped will give you 2x firewood.
How to use Firewood
Firewood is used at your cottage or your parents’ house to fire up the sauna or the fireplace. This is a great way to keep yourself warm and also cook food. Each wood piece emits heat for 2 minutes and 30 seconds, so using 4 pieces will give you heat for around 10 minutes. Cooking food requires ember, which appears after 5-7 minutes of using chopped Firewood at the fireplace.

How to sell Firewood
Pick up the woodcutting job from Livaloinen and use the tractor and firewood cutter from the woodshed to cut firewood. Collect all the firewood using the trailer to sell it to him. The trailer will require 160 pieces of firewood to fill it up. You will receive 20 mk per firewood sold to him.

Where do I find the firewood cutter?
The wood cutter is located behind your parents’ house, near the woodshed where the tractor is.
How do I attach the tractor to the wood cutter?
Hop into the tractor and start it up by using the hand throttle and turning the ignition. Back up the tractor towards the wood cutter so that the rear end of the tractor faces the cutter.
Pull the rear hitch lever to the right of the driver’s seat to hook it up. Next, get out of the tractor and attach the drive shaft of the cutter under the tractor to fix it in place.
How do I get the woodcutting job?
You need to either wait for Livaloinen to call you, or dial 08-609553 on your phone to call him. If you call him, you need to purchase the Corris Rivett from him first before he offers you the job.
