Each day in Road to Vostok unlocks a new event. This is a great way to unlock and find new areas, locate new vendors, or pick up new items. If you are looking for a furry friend to keep you company, then you should keep an eye out for a cat inside some of the more dangerous areas on the map.

Missing Cat Event Guide
The Missing Cat event takes place during Day 4. For the event, you are tasked with finding a cat in the Outpost at Area 05 region. Before you begin, do visit the vendors at Village and School to stock up on supplies and ammo. The Outpost has a lot of tougher enemies to face, so I recommend scavenging around the School and the Highway for better guns first.
Once you are ready, travel to the Village and make your way to the School. Then, continue straight through the main road until you reach the end of the School map. Go through the border entrance to enter the Outpost map.
Possible Cat Locations
At each corner of the Outpost, you will spot a bunker directly opposite the corner. During my run, I found 3 such bunkers at each corner. To find these bunkers, just stick to the Outpost yellow tape border and follow the path until you find the corner. Then, look opposite the corner to find a large stone wall. Investigate the crevice within the stone wall to find the bunker door.
The enemies here are pretty high level, which is why you should get better weapons for yourself before setting out to complete this task. Also, the cat is a random spawn inside one of these bunkers. While checking the bunkers, keep an ear out for meowing noises within each room. If you can hear it, check the rooms to find a small wooden crate at the far corner of the room.
How to Rescue the Cat
This crate will have a few broken planks on top of it, and once you step close to it, it will give you a notification to Rescue Cat. Make sure you have a 3×5 space available in your inventory to store the cat. Then, head back to your cabin and place the cat box on the floor. Wait a few seconds for the cat to appear inside the box.
To feed the cat, you can give it cat food, tuna, perch, or meat. You can find these items while scavenging, or check the vendors if they sell these items. Then, select the item from your inventory and select the Place or Drop option. Eventually, the cat will start eating the food. Check on the cat every 24 hours so it doesn’t starve.

What does the cat do?
The cat is just a companion that stays at your cabin. You need to check on it frequently and feed it to keep it alive.
I don’t want to keep the cat. What do I do?
If keeping a cat takes up too much of your time, you can try visiting the vendors and selling it. The Gunsmith is a confirmed vendor who will accept the cat and pay 2,500 Euros to take it off your hands.
What happens if I don’t feed the cat?
Not feeding the cat will kill it, and you won’t find a cat upon your return. If you think you will be away for many days, you could leave out several tins of cat food, meat, and other edible items near the cat for it to nibble on while you are away.
How do I relocate my cat?
Interact with the cat box to store it back in your inventory. Make sure you have adequate space to store the box, then carry it to your next location.
