My Winter Car – How to Keep the House Warm

By Kirthana KJanuary 3, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Radiators and the fireplace will help keep the house warm.
    • Once the house is warm enough, you can turn off the radiators to save electricity.
    • It will take around 6 hours for the house to go cold again once the radiators are off.

Since My Winter Car takes place in the snowy and remote region of Finland, you have to find ways to keep warm. This could be a difficult task while indoors, especially for bigger houses like your parents’ house.

How to Warm Up the House

    • Inside your parents’ house and apartment, you will find radiators around.
    • Turn it on by flipping the switch to the I mark, then set the temperature to max.
    • It will take around 2 in-game hours to warm up the room you are in, hence it is best to turn on the radiators well in advance.
    • At your parent’s house, utilize the fireplace to get extra warmth.
    • Keep all doors and windows closed while the radiators are working.
    • If it takes too long to warm up the house, switch the breaker on the radiator between on and off and try again.
    • Once the house is warm enough, you could turn off the radiators. The house will stay warm for around 6 hours before it turns cold again.

    How to Check the Temperature

You will find thermometers in the kitchen area of your parent’s house and apartment. Checking the thermostats regularly at timely intervals will help you plan when you need to turn on the radiators. Also, while watching TV, type in channel 188 to get the weather forecast for the day.

    FAQs

When do I turn on the radiators?

It is best to get the radiators running and fires going at -20 degrees and below, as it will take time for the place to warm up.

I can’t sleep since it’s always cold, what do I do?

Turn on the radiators somewhere close to the evening so the room gets warmed up before you go to bed. Even if you had the radiators running the whole day, switching them off should keep the room warm for up to 6 hours.

The fireplace doesn’t keep me warm enough, why is that?

The further away from the fireplace you are, the harder it gets to get warm. Standing near the fireplace always helps.

Do I need to turn on all the radiators inside the house?

It is best to keep all the radiators inside your house, especially the ones in the garage and your room. This helps keep the place warm and also helps jumpstart your car when required.

I’ve kept all the radiators on but my house doesn’t get warm, what do I do?

Check whether you have paid your electricity bills first, then turn the radiator on and off a couple of times. Make sure that the temperature set on the radiator is at max.
