Icarus Origins – How To Get Tainted Plant DNA and Farm Exotics

If you are looking to farm Volatile Raw Exotic and send the Stabilized Exotics via Exotic Extraction Drop, this guide is for you. The steps to complete this task in Icarus Origins are fairly easy to do once you know where to go.

How To Get Tainted Plant DNA and Exotics in Icarus Origins

To make Volatile Exotic Bulbs, you need two raw materials – Tainted Plant DNA and Exotics. The latter material is an open-world resource you can find while exploring. I usually found Exotics in the caves, present as an ore in a dark purple color. I would also recommend bringing a light source with you to have a better visual inside the dark caves.

On the other hand, getting Tainted Plant DNA requires a few additional steps, which are mentioned below:

• Collect 15x Lithium Ingot, 20x Aluminium Screw, 8x Composites, 14x Plastics, 5x Electronics, and 1x Powerbank. 
• Once you have these resources, craft a Lithium Sickle using a Tier 5 Manufacturer bench.
• Using your Lithium Sickle, harvest any plant you have growing. What this does is grant you Tainted Plant DNA along with the usual harvest. 

Now you have both raw materials needed to craft Volatile Exotic Bulbs. Follow the steps given below to do so:

• At your Chemistry Bench, combine 50x Tainted Plant DNA with 1x Exotics to craft Volatile Exotic Bulbs. The Chemistry Bench will take some time to craft.
• You need to place one Volatile Exotic Bulb in a plot to start growing it. A steady flow of water (15 units) and electricity (100 units) is also needed to grow.
• Once they are grown, you will notice a bright red plant blooming. Harvest them using a sickle to gain Volatile Raw Exotics.
• However, you cannot send Volatile Raw Exotics for the Exotic Extraction Drop. For that, you need to put the Volatile Raw Exotics in an Organic Residue Cleanser to get Stabilized Exotics.

Once you have Stabilized Exotics, you can then call an Exotic Extraction Drop to send them via a rocket.
