While farming materials are well-known in early games, there aren’t many clear explanations of how to sell them for a profit. To clarify this, the following sections break down the selling process step by step.

How to Build a Restaurant and Smithy
This part had me stumped for a while, since I could only speak to Nodoka to sell items. But selling items to her is quite limited, as she won’t accept food or forged items. If you find your bag overgrown with crops or mined items, then you need to unlock the respective buildings first.
Follow along with the quest objectives until you get the quest to Build a Store. You will get 2 options here: either get a Restaurant or a Smithy first. Head into the Mayor’s House and speak to Chef Lunight to purchase a Restaurant Ticket or speak to Ckia to purchase a Smithy ticket. Both tickets will cost 5000 coins.
After purchasing the ticket, place it into your hotbar from your inventory. Interact with it there to get the building. Walk around your base to set it up. If it shows up as red, then you can’t place it in that spot, so you need to move around a bit more until the structure turns blue to set it down.
Assigning Villagers
After setting up your chosen store, assign a villager to run it by speaking to Nodoka and selecting Manage Villagers. This lists all available villagers. Choose one and assign it specifically to the Smithy or Restaurant, corresponding to the building you constructed.
Select the ones to assign them to either the Smithy or the Restaurant, depending on what you have built. Since I was a bit impatient, I didn’t read through Nodoka’s texts and decided to head to the store straight away to check it out. Unfortunately, I did not find anyone manning the store, as no one was behind the cash register.
I thought I had done something wrong and assigned another villager too. But no one showed up that day. It was only after resting and moving on to the next day that the assigned villagers showed up to work in the store, so villagers will only work the next day after being assigned.
How to Sell
First, you need to craft the item that you wish to sell, such as food, weapons, and armor. Build a cooking station if you have a restaurant, or get an anvil if you have a smithy. You can purchase the ticket for both these items from Ckia or Chef Lunight. After putting them down, interact with them and use the necessary ingredients or materials to craft items.
After that, take the items to the respective store and interact with the villager to get the sale menu. Drag and drop the items from your inventory to the Storage Box to sell them. It will take a while for the items to sell, so you can do something else in the meantime, or sleep and return the next day. Check the store again to view your sale and the profit you made the previous day.

This depends on whether you are more involved in farming or mining. If you are growing more crops or going fishing often, then owning a restaurant should be the first step. But if you prefer exploring and mining for resources and other items, then having a smithy will help.
How do I complete the Daily Quest to sell 1,000 more worth of items at the shop?
Craft the required items for the chosen store (restaurant/smithy) and interact with the vendor to sell. Keep doing this until you have crossed the quota and completed the quest.
Where can I find the items gathered by my villagers?
Enter the mayor’s hall and interact with the large box on the right side. You will find this box near Ckia. This box will hold all the items that your villagers have gathered throughout the day.
Can I put both stores in my base?
Yes, but during the early game, you need to put either a restaurant or a smithy first. After progressing through the game a bit, you can purchase the ticket to build the other structure, too.
