Crimson Desert – How to Find the First Shai in Mystic Falls

If you explore each region’s nook and corner, you will find unexpected NPCs who require your help. As you venture out deeper into the Pororin Forest in eastern Hernand, you will spot a group of young children called Shais. They will trick you into a game of hide and seek, and your goal here is to find them and send them back safely to the village. ​

Crimson Desert – Children of the Woods Quest Overview​

How to Complete the Children of the Woods Quest​

After entering the village in the forest, you will find a group of children playing near a tree. Interact with them, and they will disappear. After that, find an NPC wearing a large hat who goes by the name of Polan. After your conversation with her, you will get the Traveler’s Logbook. Go through the pages of the book to pinpoint the locations of the hidden Shais.​

Where to Find All Shai Locations​

Before we step into the section of finding all Shai children, I have mapped out an efficient route to locate them. Instead of going by the quest objectives in order and zipping all over the map, I decided to go to each location that was closest to the earlier location. ​

So, the given Shai locations will not be in order, but following this route will make it all the easier to complete the quest quickly. ​

First Shai Location – Mystic Falls​

The first Shai has been the hardest for me to find personally, since this particular Shai isn’t visible out in the open. Rather, I encountered the Shai by chance after falling down a pit in Mystic Falls. The exact location you need to go to is the Ancient Rift, north of Hernand. In the western section of the Ancient Rift, you will spot the twin falls called Mystic Falls.​

Walk a bit away from the falls and jump down the canyon. Glide your way towards the glowing area on the wall of the canyon where the Ancient Rift puzzle is. You don’t need to go towards the puzzle area; rather, walk towards the edge of the ledge and peer down to your right. Just below where you stand is a hole in the floor, so drop down there and go through it.

​After entering the underground tunnel, you will find a projection of a tree at the end of the passage. Right beside this tree is where the first Shai is. Interact with the child to complete the first part of the quest.​

Fourth Shai Location – Desert’s Edge Maze

From the Ancient Rift, travel north towards Deadfire Mountain. This location is in the northern section of Demeniss. If you have selected the quest from the quest log, you will find a marked location called Desert’s Edge Maze.

​Drop down to the Celestial Maze’s canyon and fall further into the gap on the floor. This will take you to the maze, and you need to walk around to find the fourth Shai. Luckily, you can’t miss it, so continue to navigate the maze until you encounter the Shai.​

Second Shai Location – Beautiful Desert​

This one is a bit further to the east of the fourth Shai’s location. Head northeast of Demeniss to find the Beautiful Desert area. This Shai was the easiest of the 4 to locate for me, as all I had to do was drop down to the canyon below to find the child next to the large tree. ​

Third Shai Location – Wyvern’s Cradle​

The final Shai is in Wyvern’s Cradle, to the southwest of Delesyia. This location is directly southwest of Dewhaven and northeast of Three Brothers’ Cliff. After reaching the location, make your way up the cliff beside the large castle. ​

You will soon reach a ravine with a large nest below on your left. Glide towards the nest, then make your way around to the right to find a flight of stairs. Head up the stairs to find the Shai child. After finding all 4 Shais, return to Polan to complete the quest. ​

FAQs​

I can’t find any Shai children. What do I do?​

This is a common bug within this quest. All you need to do is walk away from the quest location and return after a few minutes. Sneaking up to the Shai instead of walking or running up to them will not make them disappear.

​What rewards will I get for completing the quest?​

You will get the Pororin Petal Hat, a unique headgear, after completing the quest. Equipping this gear will give you +3 Defense and a 10% increased chance to get additional items while gathering. ​

This quest does not trigger for me. What do I do?​

You need to complete all the Witches’ questlines first and complete the Trembling Woods Pororin Forest Guardians faction quest to unlock this quest.
