When playing God of War: Sons of Sparta, you’ll encounter golden brown boar-like creatures, called Swift Swines. Catching them, however, is a tricky task. In this guide, we’ll explain how you can catch them and their locations.
God of War: Sons of Sparta Swift Swine Overview
With the sidescroller elements of the game, your only way through these creatures is by catching them. However, normal attacks don’t work on them. To catch a Swift Swine, you first need to unlock the skill Victory Sandals 3.
The steps to maneuver this ability are as follows:
- While sprinting, Press Square key to perform Victory Charge.
- While standing, hold R1 and the left joystick up + the Cross key to perform Victory Ascent.
- While airborne, hold R1 and the left joystick down + the Cross key to perform Victory Descent.
To catch a Swift Swine, a Victory Charge is needed. Now that you have learnt how to catch them, below are their locations.
Swift Swine Location #1 | Temple of Artemis
From the Temple of Artemis, head left, and you will spot a Swift Swine there. Activate your Victory Charge to capture it.
Swift Swine Location #2 | Passage of Monuments
Head over to the location shown above at the Passage of Monuments. From there, keep heading right until you encounter a Swift Swine.
Swift Swine Location #3 | Oenus Vineyard
To capture the third Swift Swine, go to the location shown in the image above. From there, start heading left. There will be a chasm in the way, and you need to make a long jump to reach the platform on the other side. Keep heading left until you find a Swift Swine to capture.
Swift Swine Location #4 | Eurotas River
Take a left from the Eurotas River’s location shown on the map above. A Swift Swine will be present there for you to capture using Victory Charge.
Swift Swine Location #5 | Barren Steppe
To capture Swift Swine at this location, you will need to perform some additional steps. You need to complete all three Cultist Camps to remove a purple gate blocking your path at the Barren Steppe. Once the purple gate is unlocked, Head right to capture the Swift Swine from the location marked on the map.
Swift Swine Location #6 | Mount Taygetos
The final Swift Swine is present in Mount Taygetos as shown above. At the location, you’ll encounter the creature if you head right.

No, the Swift Swines can be collected in any order.
Why is the Victory Charge not working on Swift Swines?
Victory Charge will only work if you are fully sprinting before activating it. Make sure Victory Sandals 3 is unlocked and that you have enough space to build momentum.
