Using the Auction House to Snipe Cars
You need to be familiar with the Auction House to properly bag the best cars in the game. Some of the rarer finds might be quickly snatched up by other players if you are too slow. Just having fast fingers isn’t enough; you need to find shortcuts to snipe the cars you want quickly.
First off, I found that snagging cars within the Horizon Festival seemed to help me get them at a faster rate. Secondly, I ended up wasting a lot of precious time by loading the car’s overview and then clicking on the purchase button. By then, the chances of someone else getting the car are quite high.
How to Snipe Fast
First thing’s first, utilize the search option in the Auction House to weed out what type and make of car you would like. Then, you could set a price on the Max Buyout, so you won’t exceed your budget. But putting a cap would hamper your chances of getting a really rare car.
It is best to leave it at the Any option for now. Also, you cannot change your Max Bid if you have capped your Max Buyout, as your bid cannot exceed the buyout amount set. Now that you have set your car type, make, and budget, you can start the auctioning process.
What I liked to do is press the Y button on either keyboard or Xbox controller (Triangle on PS) after selecting the Search Auction option. If there were no cars for auction, I hit back and retry the above steps again. If a car appears on the auction list, immediately hit Y, or take your time to either select the bid or purchase option.
I chose to purchase all my auction cars immediately instead of staying in the running for a bid. So after spamming Y to lock in a car, I quickly pressed the down arrow once the bidding menu came up and selected the purchase option. All this takes proper timing and a bit of practice to get it right.
