How to Unlock the Exclusive 80s Train

The 80s Train is perhaps one of the easiest Trains to unlock in Dead Rails, as all you need to do is join the in-game watch party for the first episode of Stranger Things: Tales from ’85. Go to the Stranger Things event screen at the Train Station, where you’ll find the show’s characters sitting around a bonfire.
You’ll be given a prompt to join the watch party. Click on ‘Yes’ and wait until the timer at the top-right ends. When it does, you’ll teleport to a massive lobby, where another timer counts down to the first episode. If the episode is already playing, click on ‘Join Watch’ at the top-right corner.
Once the countdown is over, a trailer for Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 will play, followed by the first episode. When the first episode begins, you’ll be locked into a mini-game. While the mini-games aren’t required for the 80s Train, I still recommend that you play and complete those, as it’s a great way to earn Points to unlock the Vineaconda UGC at The Block experience.

For the first mini-game, I had to use a flamethrower to burn the Vineacondas that spawned in the watch lobby area. The Points you earn are visible at the top-right corner of your screen, and you require 1,200 Points for the UGC. If you’re aiming for the UGC with the 80s Train, I’d suggest going to the watch party solo, as you can earn significantly more Points.
After the first mini-game concludes, you’ll receive the Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 Event Badge and unlock the exclusive 80s Train. If you wish to earn more Points, you can continue playing the mini-games and obtain the UGC. However, you don’t need it for the 80s Train as long as you earn the Event Badge in Dead Rails.
The episode plays three times per day, so if you’ve missed your chance to join the watch party, check the in-game timer to find the next watch party timing. Remember, this event runs till May 4, 2026, so you only have a couple of weeks to earn the 80s Train and the UGC in Dead Rails.
80s Train Stats in Dead Rails

Now that you own the exclusive 80s Train in Dead Rails, it’s worth knowing what this bad boy can do, starting with its base speed at 75. It’s faster than the Default Train with greater acceleration. Even though the interior is quite narrow, the Train is built with bulletproof materials offering solid protection from threats.
It’s easy to fortify, and you can protect yourself from lightning, sunlight and more weather changes. For a free Train, the 80s Train does impress. However, it also leaves a lot to be desired. Firstly, the interior is narrow and small. Secondly, the frontal visibility is poor, making you rely on the larger side windows to navigate through if you’re driving the train.
Since obtaining it is so simple, I’d highly suggest unlocking this Train before it disappears. It’s much better than the Default Train. Unless you already have a top-tier Train unlocked, this will do a terrific job at helping you navigate dangerous locations, especially if you’re a beginner in Dead Rails.
