Key Points
- Crimson Desert features three different characters (Damiane, Oongka, and Kliff), each with their own skill tree.
- While some skills are shared between characters, others stay unique to each character.
- The skill section tree focuses on upgrading health (red), stamina (blue), and spirit (green). Each has its own cluster of upgrades.
All skills are unlocked from the start, none of them tied to any story progression or object findings. You must acquire artifacts to upgrade skill points. The game gives us: Abyss Artifacts, Faded Artifacts, and Sealed Artifacts.

Don’t worry, if you have invested in the wrong skills at the beginning, you have the option to retrain all of them to go at it again with a fresh start. This opens up the game to new gameplay styles suited to your needs.
All Important Stamina Skills

Here are three major skills that you should immediately focus on under the Stamina section of the skill tree. They will be our damage-dealing skills, perfect for common enemies and bosses.
#1. Blinding Flash Finisher
Requirements: Blinding Flash Lv. 1 with Abyss Artifact x1
Cost: 5 Spirit
Once the enemies are blinded, press RT to deal a rapid fury of attacks. This will be an excellent go-to attack, perfect against common mobs and bosses.
#2. Forward Slash
Cost: 20 Stamina
If you are having trouble taking down bosses, then investing in Forward Slash will be a definite game-changer. This heavy attack blow deals a decent amount of damage and looks cool in action.
You can also improve the Forward Slash by upgrading it further.
- Proficiency: Allows you to deliver a follow-up finisher slash.
- Sure Hit: The Forward Slash doesn’t miss.
Note: Get Echoing Forward Slash, found under Nature’s Echo under the Spirit skill tree, to make it even better. It basically allows you to create an illusion that plays out your attacks.
#3. Charged Shot
Requirements: Abyss Artifact x1
Cost: 10 Spirit
A basic charge shot skill to maximize the damage by getting more power to the blow. A perfect move to deliver a damaging blow against stunned enemies.
All Important Spirit Skills

Here we will focus on unlock mobility of our character and a better interaction with the world.
#1. Focus
Allows you to slow down time, and you can also use focus to restore spirit. The best skills to get early on under the Spirit tree as you will be using, so focus on all of your special moves.
#2. Double Jump
Requirements: Abyss Artifact x1
Cost: 5 Spirit
Perfect for reaching high places and exploring the world with little stamina. A great movement-focused skill to make platforming easier, and you can also use double jump off enemies, too.
#3. Force Current
Requirements: Force Palm Lv. 2 with Axiom Force Lv. 2/ Abyss Artifact x1
Cost: 5 Spirit
You will be able to use Axiom Force to send the energy from your Force palm. In short, you will be using Force Palm from a distance. You can use the skill to take out trees and ores from a distance without using an axe or pick axe.
#4. Keen Senses
A perfect skill that will strengthen your combat by giving you the option for perfect dodge (Keen Senses Lv. 2), counter (Keen Senses Lv. 3), and parry. A must-have to get full control over the battlefield against enemies.
All Important Health Skills

Here, we will focus on boosting our traversal to feel and act better.
#1. Aerial Maneuver
Requirements: Axiom Force Lv. 2
Cost: 200 Stamina
Get Aerial Maneuver, which acts as a grappling hook, and you can use it to perform many cool moves in the game.
#2. Swift Flight
Requirements: Flight Lv. 2
Cost: 50 Stamina consumption per second.
You will be able to fly faster, a must for quick traversal around the map.
FAQs
What should I focus on: Stamina, Health, or Spirit?
I recommend you push for Stamina, since it takes care of many movement-related actions; running out of them will hurt the fast-paced traversal around the map. Health will help you take more damage in combat, focus on improving health and stamina, and then cross over to spirit.
How many different types of artifacts are present in Crimson Desert?
You will deal with three types:
- Abyss Artifacts: Used for upgrades.
- Faded Artifacts: Allows you to respect the skill points.
- Sealed Artifacts: These artifacts will unlock challenges.
How do I gain Abyss Artifacts?
Here are the ways to gain Abyss Artifacts:
- Killing enemies, filling up the XP bar, will give you a single Abyss Artifact.
- Completing quests (Both side and main questlines) and defeating bosses.
- Hidden in the world, stumbling upon a specific location on the map will also uncover the artifacts.
- Interact with sealed abyss artifacts to earn the Abyss Artifacts.
- You can also obtain Abyss Artifacts from Abyss Cressets and Ancient Ruins.
- Vendors also sell Abyss Artifacts.
Do Abyss Artifacts share between characters?
Yes, you can use the Abyss Artifacts between all three characters (Damiane, Oongka, and Kliff). But do note, you will be taking skills from one character to strengthen the other.
Where do I find Sealed Artifacts?
They are not marked on the map, but once you are near the Sealed Artifacts, you will see a purple icon on the minimap. I will recommend unlocking the fast travel point to hunt these artifacts down in the game.
Which character has the most skills?
Kliff has the most skills in the skill tree compared to Damiane and Oongka.
