How to Complete Decipher the Records Analyzed by the Witches Quest in Crimson Desert
Once you make your way to the Kilnden Workshop in Hernand and talk with Grimnir, you will see that crafting Abyssal Fusion requires the four materials mentioned below:
- 1x Aeserion’s Scale
- 1x Golden Star’s Component
- 1x Power Core – Ore of Resipiscence
- 1x Small Kuku A.T.A.G.
Upon gathering these materials and crafting Abyssal Fusion, you will successfully complete the Decipher the records analyzed by the Witches quest.

But finding these materials is no easy task. Out of all these materials, you would already have Golden Star’s Component in your inventory, as it is obtained from the boss fight in Chapter 11 (the quest unlocks after Chapter 11).
How to get Aeserion’s Scale
To obtain the Aeserion’s Scale, you need to head over to the Serpent Shrine near Three Brothers Cliff in the Deleysia region, as shown in the image above. A large serpent will be revolving in this area with NPCs attacking it.
You need to travel to the location marked with the red circle and use Axiom Force to pick up the Aeserion’s Scales dropped by the large snake. Do remember to seal these scales in a Kuku Pot.
How to obtain the Power Core
Next, to obtain the Power Core, you can explore the area near Willow River or Lake Kharonso, Scholastone. These areas have a high density of Runewalkers, Stone Worms, and other Stone Golem Abyss Creatures, which drop Power Core at random. I personally got a Power Core by defeating a Sand Worm near Willow River.
How to obtain the small Kuku A.T.A.G
Finally, to get a Small Kuku A.T.A.G., you just need to head over to Zargan Tankworks in Gorthak, as shown in the image above. Here you will meet Marek, who will give you the Small Kuku A.T.A.G. blueprint.
It requires 5x Cogwheels, 5x Small Battery, 1x Abyss Cell, and 1x Kuku Pot to build. All these items are commonly found and would not require you to search a lot.

With all the materials in your inventory, head back to Kilnden Workshop in Hernand. First, craft the Small Kuku A.T.A.G. using the materials, and then craft Abyssal Fusion material to complete the quest.
