Key Points
- Securing your Trampler’s entry point to the captain’s cabin should be your top priority.
- The right vestibule will make all the difference in your ship’s defense.
- Also, you need to plan the placement of your vestibule to prevent enemies from easily finding it.
Besides looting other players in SAND Raiders of Sophie, you will also find your ship under attack rather frequently. The only way to stop enemies from getting control of your ship is to protect the captain’s cabin, and you need to plan the placement of the entrance to the cabin properly to prevent this from happening.

How to Make Your Trampler Entrance More Secure in SAND: Raiders of Sophie
The first thing you need to do while building your Trampler is to go through the tech tree and unlock new blueprints. I recommend working on getting a secure entrance so that enemies will have a tough time trying to take control of your base. If you go through the K.K Landwehr tech tree, you will find several blueprints that help unlock defensive parts for your ship.
Purchasing the Right Entrance Type

For a secure entrance during early gameplay, you can purchase the Wooden Vestibule for 1000 Crowns in the K.K Landwehr tech tree at Tier 1. But they might not be too durable later on. Plus, they will require a chassis to be placed on your ship so that the vestibule can rest on it. The earliest chassis you can get is the “Well” Small Chassis under the Kaiser’s Friends tech tree. You will find it within the first tier.
Once you reach Tier 3 of the K.K Landwehr tech tree, you can unlock the Armored Vestibule for 6000x Crowns, 1x District Officer’s Portable Safe, 410x Gunpowder, and 1x Black Box. This won’t require a chassis, so you can place it directly on your ship. I preferred working through the tech tree and collecting the required materials to get the armored vestibule as early as possible.
Best Entrance Placement

If you have purchased the small chassis and wooden vestibule, then you need to plan the placement so enemies can’t climb in easily. Place the chassis in the central portion of your ship, and place the wooden vestibule on it. Then, surround the area with cabins and cannons to prevent enemies from gaining access to the area. I would also recommend having a friend or two stationed around this particular area to prevent enemies from coming closer.
Later in the game, after unlocking the armored vestibule, the process of protecting it remains the same. The best way to secure this entrance is to block the path that leads to it. I liked to place my reactor near here and cover the surrounding areas with cabins and armored walls. The more intricate the design of your ship, the harder it will be for enemies to find the entrance to the captain’s cabin and gain control of your ship.

FAQs
The enemy didn’t blow up my entrance door but got access to the captain’s cabin. What do I do?
Usually, these are players who use mods or hacks to gain access to the captain’s cabin, and your only solution would be to kill them before they can get to the master controls. If your reactor has been destroyed in the process, then you need to abandon ship.
My Trampler has been overtaken by enemies. What do I do?
If your Trampler has been taken over and you can’t defend the ship, then the only thing you can do is abandon it and hope to bag another Trampler from enemies during exploration.
My ship has been destroyed. What do I do?
If you still have control over your ship, you can get repair kits from walker enemies near various landmarks. In case your reactor has blown up, then your best bet is to get another ship.
