How to Join the Raging Tides Sect
Since this sect is particularly new, I had to do some digging to figure out the right way to join the Raging Tides. To start, head over to the Battlecrest Slope in Qinghe’s Verdant Wilds. The nearest fast travel point is Northern Vow Ruins. Once you reach the central area, drink the potion from the large pot. Drinking the potion will teleport you to an underground area, where you will find a large statue. Right in front of the statue, interact with the Yanyun Oath.
After that, walk behind the statue to pick up the concealed letter. Read the new Letter of Initiation to find the joining requirements to get into the Raging Tides. For this, you need to complete the Echoes of Old Battles Lost Chapter quest found near Qinghe’s Northern Vow Ruins. If you have completed the quest, then you will get the next requirement, which is to get 9x World of Brews.
How to Taste the World of Brews
You will have exactly 9 days to taste all 9 types of wines. To find all wine types, there are a few locations to check.
I found crafting and drinking the wine potion from my inventory counted as 1x type of wine, so do that to kickstart the quest objective. Also, you will get 1x wine if you win at the pitch pot mini-game.
Then, head over to Harvestfall Village and speak to Han Jiu, the Honest Merchant. You will find him outside his hut in the southern section of the village. Speak to him and check out his wares to get 4x types of wines.
The next place that sells different wines is at Ghostlight Market. Speak to Hao Xian to purchase 2x types of wines. If the vendor doesn’t cooperate, come back here after equipping the Ghostlight Mask. If you don’t have the Ghostlight Mask, complete the Bounty Trouble side quest and speak to Horse-Face to get the mask.
The Buddha Hand also has a wine stashed away, but you need to be adept at stealing to get it from him. You will find this NPC at Mount Wuwei, Hexi Liangzhou. Get to the top of the hill to get a cutscene with this NPC, after which you can steal his wine.
Challenge Xiang Dinghua
Head north of Heaven’s Pier, close to the pier, to find Xiang Dinghua. After drinking all 9 wine types from your inventory, speak to him to challenge him to a drinking contest. For the contest mini game, you need to press the button just as the circle lands on the marked area.
The faster and more accurate your results are, the higher your score will be. You need to beat Xiang Dingua before the timer ends to win the contest. There aren’t a lot of tips to hand over here, so this game requires a lot of trial and error before you win against him. Then, speak to him right after to join the Raging Tides sect.
