WoW Midnight’s questlines will sometimes take you all over the place. Eventually, you will be led to inviting one of the faction leaders to a Soiree. Doing so will further progress through a unique questline, which ends at defending a Runestone. Since there are several prerequisites before you get to this point, you might have a hard time trying to figure out the best approach for this quest.

How to Start the Saltheril’s Haven Quest
In Silvermoon City, make your way to the Bazaar north of the Sanctum of Light (coordinates 46, 63). Speak to Jonas Everdawn at the pond to get the Saltheril’s Haven quest. For the quest, you will get the following objective:
- Speak to Lord Saltheril at Saltheril’s Haven.
Travel to Eversong Wood’s Saltheril’s Haven (42, 47) and speak to Lord Saltheril at the entrance of the Haven. Complete this quest and start the Honored Guests quest. This quest will have the following objective:
- Deliver Lord Saltheril’s invitations.
You need to send out invites to four different people. All the guests reside around Silvermoon City and are located in the following areas.

Return to Lord Saltheril to complete the quest and pick up the next quest: High Esteem.
How to Complete the High Esteem Quest
For this quest, you need to invite an ally from within the Blood Knights, Magisters, Farstriders, or Shade of the Row for Saltheril’s Soiree. You will find the required ally vendors to the left of Lord Saltheril. Speak to each one to determine who should get the invite, then return to Lord Saltheril to pick a guest. I picked Enchanter Alan’ah from the Magisters as part of my playthrough, but there are no wrong choices here. Whoever you pick will offer the “Fortify the Runestone” quest.
How to Complete the Subtle Game Quest
This quest is pretty simple. After completing the previous quest, speak to Lord Saltheril again to pick up the Subtle Game quest. All you need to do is pick any three factions and hand them the Saltheril’s Favor token. Again, there are no wrong choices here, and you can speak to any guest during the event and hand over the tokens. Return to Lord Saltheril to complete the quest.
How to Complete the Fortify the Runestones Quest
Next, depending on who you have picked during the High Esteem quest, speak to the required guest at the event. They will offer a series of unique mini-quests, and one of them is to fortify the Runestone. Select this quest, which offers two objectives.
- Collect Latent Arcana.
- Defend the Runestone.
How to Get Latent Arcana
Speak to the guests around the event and pick up any weekly quests that offer Latent Arcana in the reward pool. The objectives for these quests are easy to follow, and turning them in will help you farm Latent Arcana. Besides completing quests, unlocking Treasures within Everson Woods will also procure a few Latent Arcana. Also, travel around the entire zone to pick up daily quests that will offer Latent Arcana as the reward.
How to Defend the Runestone
Depending on which faction you picked, you will get a runestone marker on the map after collecting enough Latent Arcana. Head over there and interact with the Runestone. You need to feed it enough Latent Arcana to charge it up, and I found that using up around 200 of them seemed to do the trick.
Once charged, the next task is to defend the Runestone against waves of enemies. Completing that will complete the questline. If you don’t have a lot of Latent Arcana to spare, keep searching the region for more quests that offer Latent Arcana and complete them to farm this item.
