Key Points
- To complete the “Give Me a Ride” quest, you must capture a Dusk Bison in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin.
- You need Faint Potions of Charm to bait and capture this animal.
- You can either buy the Potions from Merchants or craft them to start capturing pets.
Capturing pets in Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, especially the Dusk Bison, is no walk in the park. Chances are, they’ll resist your capture and retaliate, which is why there’s a trick, paired with a specific consumable, to increase your odds. Ashu will ask you to capture a Dusk Bison during one of his fetch quests, so follow my tips below to add this pet to your collection.

How to Capture Dusk Bison

Faint Potion of Charm is the only way to capture a Dusk Bison in Seven Deadly Sins: Origins. It’s not guaranteed to capture since the Base Capture Chance is up to 20%, and each target has a chance to resist capture beforehand. Here’s what I did to capture a Dusk Bison as quickly as possible:
- Craft/use Faint Potions of Charm and assign them to the Quick Slot.
- Approach a group of Dusk Bison and attack them until their HP is low.
- Use the Potion to try and capture them until they start glowing purple.
It’s worth noting that this may take multiple tries since Dusk Bisons can resist the Potions. Keep trying until the animal completely turns purple. This will be your cue that the Bison has taken the bait, and the Potion has worked. However, your work is not over yet.
Once you have captured it, don’t forget to right-click and pick up the Dusk Bison from the ground since it will drop as floor loot. It’s a common mistake made by players, including myself, since the drop is easy to ignore. After you do, it adds a Domesticated Dusk Bison to your collection of pets and updates the Creature Codex in the game.
It’s harder to capture these Bisons than to locate them, since they spawn fairly commonly in herds. Your best shot is to damage all the Bisons in the group until their HP is low, and use the Faint Potion of Charm consumable to bait all of them. The more you use the charm, the more your Capture Chance will increase.
I recommend using at least two or three Potions to attract them. Check the number above their head to determine their Capture Chances. The Bison with the highest number will be the easiest to capture, although it took me multiple tries to lure them. Remember, the Potion offers a Base Capture Chance of up to 20%, so do not make the mistake of thinking it will go beyond that threshold.
How to Craft Faint Potions of Charm

Like me, if you assumed you’ll have more of Ashu’s Special Potion of Charm, you’ll be disappointed. You need to craft your Potions yourself. The crafting requirement for one Faint Potion of Charm is 3x Refined Glass and 3x Common Concentrated Sap, and you can obtain these materials from specific missions, Merchants, or by crafting and salvaging them. I recommend doing the following:
- Refined Glass: You can craft Refined Glass using 3x Flint, obtained through mining Ruby Ore or Merchants. Break Ruby Ores with your weapon to collect Flint.
- Common Concentrated Sap: Wildflower Vines obtained through gathering are your best shot to get Common Concentrated Sap. Salvage the Wildflower Vines using your Workbench to get Common Concentrated Sap. For each Wildflower Vine you salvage, you obtain 3x Common Concentrated Sap.
After obtaining these two materials in their required amount, you can craft the Faint Potion of Charm using the Workbench. I prefer having a surplus of these items since a single capture needs multiple Faint Potions of Charm, particularly for the Dusk Bison, which can easily resist their effects.
