Preparing to Invade Enemy Ships

The fight to take over an enemy ship won’t be easy, so I recommend a few things before you go ahead. Build a workbench in your ship for crafting and upgrading your weapons. Craft some canned food to help you heal if you can’t find many medkits. Keep ammo on hand and upgrade your base weapons if you have the resources.
Next comes your choice of weapons. I prefer the revolver for its fast reload speed and sufficient ammo capacity, but you can use any weapon you prefer. For your ship, place a 70mm shotgun and either a 40mm or an 80mm cannon for better efficiency. You will also need a couple of Time Bombs to blow up the captain’s door.
How to Invade an Enemy Base
What I liked to do first was to circle around their ship and find the captain’s cabin window. Capturing the captain’s cabin is like an endgame for the enemy; you can identify it by looking out for a large circular window. I also took this time to scale the number of enemies on the ship, and whether they own heavy-duty equipment like cannons.
Once you have an overview of the enemy ship, start by targeting its reactor with your cannon and blow it up. If you are a new player and aren’t too keen on your shooting skills, aim for the ship’s legs first to bring them down, then go for the reactors. Veterans can directly go for the reactors and shoot down the section where the smoke emits from the reactor and have it destroyed.
Navigating to the Captain’s Cabin

Something to keep in mind is that enemies do respawn after being shot down, and they will repair the reactor if anyone is still alive. What I like to do now is quickly dock my ship as close to theirs and hop on board to find the captain’s quarters.
If you are in a crew, you could ask your teammates to destroy the steering wheel of the enemy ship and also destroy the crew quarters if there are any. This will slow them down and prevent them from respawning too frequently. Otherwise, if you are solo, equip the time bomb and quickly navigate to the room with the circular window.
Taking Over the Master Control Device

Place the bomb on the door and step aside. Once the door is blown off, enter the room and interact with the Master Control while holding down the interaction key. Keep an eye on the circular icon near the control to get filled up. In case the Master Control is broken, look around the room to find metal plates and pipes that require fixing and interact with them. Then repeat the process to overtake the Master Control, which will help you steal the enemy base.
FAQs

How do I increase my ship’s maneuverability?
A smaller ship will help you navigate much faster, and you can also fill up the fuel rod tanks for an additional boost.
Can I keep the enemy ship for myself?
Yes, after gaining control of their ship, you can claim the ship as your own.
