Finding some of the Legendary Pokémon in Pokémon Pokopia is locked behind special events. If you are on the hunt for Mew, then you need to solve a quick mystery around the islands. The puzzle itself is simple enough, but finding the right items and the puzzle area isn’t given to you that easily.

How to Collect Mysterious Slates

To find Mew, you need to scavenge around the region and collect 27 Mysterious Slates. Mysterious Slates spawn randomly under dig sites that have a yellow shine on them. You will easily spot these sites at night, especially while flying overhead across all five islands.
I still had a pretty hard time trying to find these special dig sites. But using a Dowsing Machine alongside a Pokémon that has the Search skill, such as Pidgey, makes the hunt easier. Since dig site treasures respawn, I found that skipping time helped me collect all 27 Slates quickly.
Where to Use Mysterious Slates

Once done, head out to Withered Wasteland. From the Pokémon Center here, head northeast to find a wall that requires Rock Smash. If you are standing in front of the windmill beside the vending machine, you will spot the rock wall on your right once you go down the passage.

Smash the wall and head downstairs to find a Mysterious Mural. Now, you need to align the Mysterious Slates in a way that forms the pattern of Mew. After completing the mural, interact with the glowing orb in the middle of the mural to get Mew.
