How to Complete A Thousand Slimy Things Quest
Follow Tamala to the final Flowflower
The first objective of this quest is to find Tamala and follow her to the Water Blossom spot. You will get a quest marker to navigate you to her location. Once you arrive, review the dialog options to determine the next steps.
Destroy the Vines Surrounding the Doll
As per your conversation with Ulfe and Tamala, you are required to locate items from Ulfe’s past to break the shield around the Water Blossom. Follow Ulfe to find the first item inside the cave nearby, which is a doll covered in Echo-infected vines. Using normal weapons will not help tear down the roots. You need to find a way to suppress the aura surrounding them.
It took me a while to figure out this step, but the answer is pretty simple. All I had to do was equip my watering can and walk over to the nearby pedestal basin filled with water. Dip the jug into the bowl, collect the water, then pour it on the roots. Then, use an axe to tear the roots apart and collect the doll.
Find the Next Object to Restore Ulfe’s Memory
Continue onwards to the next location with Ulfe to find an item from his Present memory. Again, this item is covered in Echo roots, so use the watering jug and fill it up with water from the pedestal nearby. Use the water on the roots and chop it down to collect the Ring Box. After that, follow Ulfe to the final location, which should jog his Future memory.
This time, you have a choice of three items, and only one of them will fit Ulfe’s memory. I thought asking him for a hint would help me out, but it didn’t. Fortunately, you don’t have to pick an item straightaway, and you can remove the vines from all the items and select what suits Ulfe’s memory best. I picked the Sprout since Ulfe seemed alarmed when I handed him the sword and bag.
Light the Candles in the Order that Represents Ulfe’s Past, Present, and Future
Exit the cave after your conversation with Ulfe to find Tamala. Speak to her to show her all the items. Now, you are tasked with performing a ritual to help remove the shield surrounding the Flowflower. For the ritual, you will spot three altars with the items that correspond to Ulfe’s past, present, and future in front of them.
You need to light the candles on the altar by hitting the circle in the middle with your bow in the correct order to complete the ritual. The order is:
- Doll
- Ring Box
- Sprout
Once done, pick up the flower after completing the ritual and speak to Tamala, Ulfe, and Subira to complete the quest.
