    Insatiable Guzzler Explained

The Insatiable Guzzler is an upgrade for the Great Maw, and there are three tiers for this upgrade. At tier 1, the Great Maw will collect anything and everything near its mouth. At tier 2, the radius and force of the collection suction will be increased. Tier 3 and 4 will further increase the suction to pull all ores lying around. To check out all of the Great Maw’s upgrades, select the stone structure at the bottom of the screen.

At the starting tier, the Insatiable Guzzler will cost 198 coins, but its price will be increased as more tiers are unlocked. Personally, I found the Insatiable Guzzler a unique feature, as it got easier to collect all the fallen ores and items that my miners couldn’t pick up on time. I could further enhance the rate of the Great Maw’s suction by using a Bulldozer and shoveling items into its mouth.

Also, without upgrading the Insatiable Guzzler, this perk felt a bit useless at the start. It wasn’t until unlocking Tier 4 that this perk shone through, as it stopped the “physics jank” occurring whenever the dwarves tossed the ores at it.

    Is the Insatiable Guzzler Important?

The Insatiable Guzzler is only important if you have enough resources to spare and upgrade it to Tier 4. It’s only when it’s at its highest tier that the full effect of the Insatiable Guzzler perk will be known. Until then, it would be better to pick other perks for the Great Maw and focus on those instead.

Working on Runners and Carrying Capacity and then focusing on Gemstone and Mirthil collection is an effective strategy. However, any upgrade order for the Great Maw can be chosen based on individual preferences.

    FAQs

What happens if I don’t upgrade the Insatiable Guzzler?

You can choose not to work on the Insatiable Guzzler perk at all, and if you don’t see a drastic difference in the collection process, then you won’t need this perk entirely.

I would like to remove the Insatiable Guzzler. What do I do?

The only way to remove this perk from the Great Maw is to reset either through Prestige or through Ascension.

Is the Great Maw a good early-game building?

Yes, if you haven’t worked on your runner yet, then the Great Maw will help draw in all collectibles around the area easily.
