Find Constellations in Crimson Desert is a part of a bigger challenge known as the Maps of the Night Challenge, and to test your astronomy skills, you need a special Helm. However, this challenge is required purely for the game’s 100% completion, as you don’t receive any rewards for it (save for the Constellation Helm), but you do unlock a special Trophy/Achievement.

How to Get the Constellation Helm in Crimson Desert
The Constellation Helm is obtained as part of the “Trolls Studying Steles” Faction Quest, found to the south of Hernand City in Crimson Desert. I kept completing the Scholastone Institute quests and upgraded the college until this Faction Quest popped up for me.
The “Trolls Studying Steles” Faction Quest is a part of a bigger questline called “What the Stars Left Behind”. Firstly, you need to find the Constellation Journal inside the library in the northern part of the Scholastone Institute for the “Constellation Research” Faction Quest.
Then, you need to collect the Constellation Helm to complete the “Trolls Studying Steles” Faction Quest and begin your Constellation observing journey. The thing about studying Constellations in Crimson Desert is that you need to look at the pattern, then move around the Constellation’s highlighted area until you get the right perspective and shape.
This will take some trial and error, and you won’t successfully observe every Constellation in one go. So, give yourself time to learn how the Constellations work, how you can observe them with the Constellation Helm and then start locating all 13 of them one by one.
Here’s a quick tip: there’s a Constellation available in the same area where you obtain the Constellation Helm. If you want to know which one it is, jump to Constellation #6 on the list, the Sealed Stone Constellation in Crimson Desert.
Constellation #1: Shield
Location: This Constellation is located across the northwest of Demeniss, near the Stones of Time, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Solution: Remove the branches in the location by using the Flame Strike ability and standing on top of the V-shaped rock. Use the Constellation Helm to observe the Constellation above. Slowly walk forward and align the two Constellations until they’re shaped like a Shield to complete this challenge.
Constellation #2: Adventurer
Location: You’ll find this Constellation near the Stonemire Ruins, located directly to the east of the “Y” in Delesyia, above Eastern Hills, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Solution: Stand below the Stonemire Ruins and look at the Gate to Advancement atop Mount Benus. Use the Constellation Helm to observe the Adventurer Constellation by slowly walking forward until you observe it completely.
Constellation #3: Wagon
Location: This Constellation is located directly to the south of the “Upper Nas River” marker on the map, to the east of the Argent Peaks in Pailune, as shown in the image above.
Solution: You’ll find a couple of stone pillars in this area. Stand in the middle of the pillars and use the Constellation Helm to observe the Wagon to your left, while positioning yourself southeast. Keep strafing left and right until you’ve completely observed the Constellation.
Constellation #4: Hammer
Location: The next Constellation is located at the Sheltering Rocks, directly northwest of the Stones of Time in Demeniss, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Solution: At the Sheltering Rocks, position yourself southeast overlooking the cliff and equip the Constellation Helm. Look at the sky and observe the Constellation. Keep strafing left and right until the Constellation matches the shape in the image above to observe this one.
Constellation #5: Woodland Spirit Owl
Location: The Woodland Spirit Owl Constellation is located at the Swamp of Despair in northwest Pailune, directly to the east of Wayward Woods, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Location: Walk into the Swamp of Despair and use your Constellation Helm to begin the observation process. Look up to find two Constellations, and focus on the one shaped like a “4”. Strafe right until the observation is complete to conclude this challenge.
Constellation #6: Sealed Stone
Location: This Constellation is in the same location as the one you find the Constellation Helm in during the “Troll Studying Steles” questline at the Scholastone Institute in Crimson Desert.
Solution: Walk up to the three Trolls sitting in the field and equip the Constellation Helm. Look at the Scholastone Institute and start observing. Position yourself to the left and start strafing forward and backwards until the observation concludes, adding another Constellation to the Maps of the Night Challenge.
Constellation #7: Ship
Location: You’ll find this Constellation on a small island on the Great Ocean of Pywel, located directly to the south of Dewhaven in Delesyia, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Location: Stand near the edge of the cliff at the northeast side of the island and use your Constellation Helm to start observing. Move very carefully to the left to observe a triangle-shaped Constellation and complete this Challenge. I say very carefully, since it’s easy to fall off the cliff.
Constellation #8: Elephant
Location: The next Constellation is located above the “L” and “E” in Delesyia, near the Snaketail Wall, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Solution: Position yourself east of the Snaketail Wall on a cliff, and start observing the night sky using the Constellation Helm. Slowly move forward towards the left until the Constellation is completely observed to address the elephant in the room.
Constellation #9: Camel
Location: The ninth Constellation is located directly to the north of Forebearer’s Barrens, to the southwest of Urdavah, southwest of the Forgotten City, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Solution: Use the Constellation Helm and look up at the sky to observe this tiny Constellation. A bit of movement will immediately add this Constellation to your Maps of the Night Challenge.
Constellation #10: Goblin
Location: The next Constellation is found to the east of the Upper Nas River, directly to the Five-Finger Mountain Bandit Camp in western Pailune, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Solution: For this one, position yourself northeast and look at the Five-Finger Mountain. Use the Constellation Helm to start observing and walk slowly towards the right to complete this challenge.
Constellation #11: Black Dragon
Location: Black Dragon is found northwest of the Steel Mountains, directly to the west of the Spire of Insight in southern Demeniss, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert.
Solution: Jump towards the elevated platform in front of you and use the Constellation Helm to observe the Constellations. Look back and analyze the Constellation to your right to complete the Black Dragon Constellation challenge.
Constellation #12: Giant
Location: This one’s pretty close to the Camel Constellation, found between Tashkalp and the Forebearer’s Barrens to the south of Urdavah, as shown in the image above in Crimson Desert. If you’re looking for a prominent landmark, go west of the Ghadir-jahr Camp.
Solution: Use the Constellation Helm facing the large pillar in this location and observe the Constellation to your left. I’d recommend getting some distance from the Constellation and slowly walking towards the right for a complete observation.
Constellation #13: Key
Location: The final Constellation in Crimson Desert is found southwest of Demeniss, at Horseshoe Lake, as shown in the image above.
Solution: Stand on the pillar overlooking the lake and start the observation process with your Constellation Helm. Focus on the Constellation shaped like the number “2” to add the Key Constellation to your collection and complete the Maps of the Night Challenge in the game.

You’ll unlock the Navigator of the Stars Trophy/Achievement for observing all 13 Constellations in Crimson Desert.
How do I equip and use the Constellation Helm?
Use the Right D-Pad from the special equipment tab to select the Constellation Helm, then press L2+R2 to use it and observe Constellations. If that doesn’t work, switch out the Constellation Helm, put a different ability in, then switch it back to the Constellation Helm after reopening the menu.
Can I observe the Constellations in any order?
Yes, there’s no set order to observe the Constellations. You can start and end with whichever Constellation you want to observe.
