Cult of the Lamb DLC – How to Unlock Midas Follower

By Kirthana KJanuary 23, 20263 Mins Read

    Key Points

    • Midas is a recurring character from the base game who has thieving tendencies.
    • You need to get his skull after his death and take it to the Hatchery.
    • You will also require a wolf trap and gold bars to capture Midas once he becomes an adult.

Adding new followers in Cult of the Lamb helps expand your cult and add strength in numbers. You would have been familiar with Midas from the base game, and now, you get to add him to your cult, too. Before you could do that, there was a series of events you needed to follow to indoctrinate Midas into your village.

Step #1 – Getting Midas Follower

While exploring the mountains of Woolhaven, you will encounter Midas being attacked by a large wolf enemy. This will result in his death, and you get to collect his skull to take to the Hatchery. Tend to the skull for a couple of days until it hatches into a mini version of Midas. Click on him to turn him into a follower.

    Step #2 – Trapping Midas

Keep nurturing Midas until he reaches level 7. It will be during this stage that he will show his thieving tendencies and steal from the cult. Eventually, one of the followers will give you a tip on using Wolf Traps to capture him. If you haven’t unlocked a wolf trap yet, you will get it as one of the upgrade perks from Yngya.

    Step #3 – Indoctrinating Midas

Place the wolf trap in an area where there are frequent sightings of Midas, then place a gold bar within the trap. Offering altars is one of the more popular areas where you will frequently find him. It could take a couple of days to trap him, but once he is trapped, you get to interact with him and re-educate him to indoctrinate him as a proper follower.

    FAQs

Midas does not step into the trap for several days. What do I do?

It could be a potential bug, so restart the game or try setting up another trap somewhere else. Performing Sermons will also draw out Midas to the open and increase chances to trap him.

Do I get all my stolen gold back from Midas?

Yes, after indoctrination, you will get all your gold back from Midas.

How do I make Midas stop stealing?

One of Midas’ traits is to steal money, and the only way to make him stop is to trap him and indoctrinate him.
