The last section of the Terror Hotel opens up to a mailbox puzzle. Once you get out of the elevator, you will see a number of mailboxes, each with a different number. While most of them will be closed, some of them will be wide open.
Note: Like many puzzles in Escape the Backrooms, the mailbox lockers are also RNG-based; on your next run, you will not encounter the same locker being open or closed.
Solving the Mailbox Puzzle
Objective: We must place papers inside each empty mailbox locker to get the password. Once the password is visible, you can enter the code on the lock on the door 235, placed just a bit to the right of the mailboxes.
Now you must remember the numbers on the mailboxes that are open. The next step is to find the room with the same number in the hotel and retrieve a page or letter from the room.

On our run, as you can see in the picture, the mailbox locker 206/ 209/ 212/ 214/215/ 217/ 218 is open, and the rest are closed. So our objective is to raid the room numbers in the hotel that have the same number as the open lockers.
You will find the page on the top of the nightstand next to the bed. Since you are trapped in a hotel room, you will come across many rooms. You don’t have to go inside every room, just the ones that share the same number as the open mailbox lockers at the entrance.
While it is easy to go inside the rooms, you will have to deal with a hound and a Skin-Stealer while roaming the hallways. You need to be extra careful in multiplayer sessions, and always have a flashlight ready to use against the hounds.

Once you have retrieved all the pages, place them inside the empty lockers. Then you will get a numeric code on the ceiling directly over the mailboxes. Remember the code, and enter the code on the password lock on the door 235, located just right of the mail box lockers.
Note: After placing all the letters inside the mailboxes, you will always get a 5-digit code on the ceiling. Even if you add multiple letters to the mailbox, the code will be a 5-digit number.
While RNG mechanics are still active on the puzzle, they are only active to a certain extent. Between your runs, you will get only three different types of code for this puzzle: 17564/ 05938/ 89472.
FAQs
Can I skip the mailbox letter puzzle in Terror Hotel?
Technically, yes, you can skip it by just adding the code 17564/ 05938/ 89472 to open the room door 235 and go inside. Since there are only three possible codes for the door, you can skip it.
Where does the code appear?
After you add all the letters into the empty mailbox lockers, look above to see the code on the ceiling. It will be written in black ink, and you can view it directly from the ground.
How difficult is the mailbox letter puzzle?
It is the monster that makes the entire puzzle a stress-inducing adventure. Especially Skin-Stealer, which will mask as your teammate and rush at you from a distance. Another problem is the hound, so carry a flashlight at all times.
